Free ice water?

Does anyone know if you can still get free cups of ice water, especially if you’re not ordering food? I didn’t see a place to add it on the mobile app, and I’ve read some reports that people were not allowed inside QS places without the “order is ready” message, or at least not without a bit of a struggle. So how do you get water if you can’t order it, and can’t go inside without an order? Are we stuck with bottled water for now?

Yes. Just walk up and ask the cast member outside the entrance. I did this recently at Pecos Bill, and they let me in to pick up prefilled cups of water that they already had waiting in case someone asked.

There are a few Bottle fillers around now as well. Some of the CS will just give you a cup and they have a glass water dispenser of ice water i saw one of these in star wars land at one of the CS to just refill your water bottle. . I would strongly suggest carrying your own bottle to refill --a plasticwater bottle works fine-- these days it makes life a lot easier.

Unfortunately, occasionally those bottle fillers have WARM water. I just ask for a cup of ice and refill it with water as needed (yes, I drink water from water fountains as long as it has ice in it).

We had no trouble getting ice water a couple of weeks ago. We didn't use bottle fillers since I like my water really cold! I did keep a steel refillable bottle with me that I would pour the ice water into which worked great.

People should look at S'well bottles. You can fill up the bottle with ice and the ice will stay solid for at least 12 hours. I use them at work and saves me $600+ a year versus the couple of bottles a day I was buying. The smaller ones fit perfectly into my small Osprey sling bag. One bottle filled with ice at the resort will cool an entire day's worth or warm fountain refills
