Hello! I know that you can receive free cups of ice water at the parks, but I wondered if they would give you just a cup with ice?

On our last day, we will have already checked out of our hotel, and I will need to keep a small vial of medication cold until we finish our last park day. I was planning to keep it in a small insulated bag with me, and ask for ice to refill a baggie as needed.

Do you think this will be a problem?

Thanks!

Don't think it will be a problem at all. We had bottled water with us but when it got warm, we just requested a cup of ice! Easy peasy!

That shouldn't be a problem. But you may want to consider taking the medication to First Aid in the park. They can store it for you so you wouldn't have to worry about getting ice.

no it will not be a problems I have asked for ice to fill up my water bottle ( I had water in it just wante it cold )

a few things to think about

1 first aid has a refridge for medician so you could drop it off there. you will need to fill out a pice of paper witch will take about 3 minutes and then you are good to go.

or I would get a FRIO bag and you will not have to worry about your medicine

Or you could get some of those chemical ice packs and use them as you need them. What temperature do you need? Ice can actually be too cold for some meds.

Good point about ice being too cold my medicine would not work any more if it freezes

Thank you for all the replies. I am having a hard time finding out the exact temperature I need. (It is allergy serum.) I have it on my list to ask my doctor before the trip. It says it must be refrigerated, but does not specify a temperature range. I looked at the FRIO wallets but they only say they keep it cool, so if it has to be refrigerated, it might need to be cooler than that. Also, does anyone do anything special with an epi-pen, or are those okay in any weather? We are going in Nov., so I don't expect it to be beastly hot.

A FRIO doesn't actually cool as much as it maintains the product's temperature. So if you have your med at the appropriate refrigerated temp when you put it into the FRIO, the FRIO will keep it at that temp for 2+ days.

The medication guide received with your prescription should indicate appropriate temperature range, or you can usually look it up online if you have thrown away the paperwork.

I believe Epipen specifically indicates "do not refrigerate" and the people I know just toss it in their bag. But again you can check the paperwork to see what temps are safe.

Enjoy your vacation!
