Hi All.
I just read on Allears that you will be able to use your birthday certifcate for golf cart rental at Fort Wilderness.

Q. What can I use the BFC for?
A. According to the official brochure, the BFC can be used for things like: Merchandise at Disney-owned locations, stroller, wheelchair and ECV rentals, certain recreational activities, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, prepackaged food items like chips or candy at merchandise sales locations, Photopass services, golf cart rentals at Fort Wilderness, etc. When in doubt, ask first before trying to use your card for payment!

As I have a season pass, that will be some birthday present!!!!!! :thumbsup2

That would be great!!
So this would only be good to use on your birthday, same as the entrance to the parks??
:wave2:

According to Anita via Allears who is extremely knowledgeable about WDW, (plus she actually takes the time to read the fine print so we don't have to :coffee: ) said that originally that was Disney's intent, but that has changed and you can use your certificate at any time. You MUST pick it up on your birthday though.
One word of caution though.....in that same fine print, it says that WDW has the right to cancel the promotion at any time....so it would be ashame to lose the $$$$. I'm going to use it the same week of my birthday just to make sure.

Can you get the certificate instead of going to the park? We have alot of people coming with us and not all of them want to go to the park. So I was wondering if on my birthday if I could get the certificate instead of a free ticket for the day.
Thanks

Absolutely. In fact, that is what you get, a certificate. I already have mine via the WDW website and my birthday isn't until May. You can print it out right at home.

Remember, you need to go to one of the special windows at one of the four parks and hand in your certificate along with proof of your birthday and it has to be ON your birthday. That's when you decide what you are going to do, go into the park or I believe you get a card if you choose to do other things.

Sounds like an awesome deal as of right now, a one day ticket price is $75, not bad.

Hope this helps.

Wow..this is great news! :cool1: I thought the birthday promtion was a waste for those who had AP's. Good to know you can use it for other things.
Thanks. :)

I was there last week on my birthday (the 11th). I already had tickets so I went to the Will Call window and they gave me a $75 gift card. Of course, I used it in Disney, so it didn't go quite as far as I intended... :) But it was fun to spend some one else's money.

Can you use it to buy over the internet?

If you already have a 7-day park hopper for your next visit which is the same time as your birthday, will you also get a gift certificate? I know APs will get certificate but I was wondering about people who have their tickets for their stay already.

Thanks.

Sure, it's your choice to get free admission into a park or the alternative choice. That $75 gift card sounds pretty good.

I don't think so. They were quite clear that it had to be spent on merchandise within the parks or World of Disney in DTD. And indeed, they told me I needed to use it all on my birthday, which I did.

I could have selected free admission, the gift card or a special fast pass for the day for certain rides within the park.

Hi All.
I just read on Allears that you will be able to use your birthday certifcate for golf cart rental at Fort Wilderness.

This is a great news. Thanks for sharing this info. This would be helpful for those incoming birthdays of anyone.

Have a nice day. :)

Here's the article from the latest Jan. 09 Allears newsletter. This should answer all your quesitons EXCEPT when you have to use it, on your birthday or any time. Mickster was there in person and was told on your birthday. Anita, who wrote the article, was told you can use your card at any time. Sounds like a DD....Disney Doodle.:lmao:

ARTICLE BEGINS NOW......

Q. Where can I pick up my Birthday Fun Card?
A. The BFC can only be picked up at the special Birthday Will Call window outside of the four major theme parks.

Q. Do I have to pick up my BFC on my exact birthday?
A. Yes, unless you were born on February 29, in which case you can choose between February 28 and March 1 as your pick up date.

Q. How much will the BFC be worth?
A. This may change if ticket prices increase over the course of the What Will You Celebrate? promotion, however, currently they are equal to the price of a One Day Magic Your Way Base Ticket. As of today, that would be approximately $75 for adults, age 10 and over, and approximately $63 for children age 3 to 9. Children younger than 3 do not require a ticket for park admission, so will not receive the BFC benefit.

Q. Does the BFC ever expire?
A. When the program was first announced, the BFC had to be used on your birthday, however that announcement was amended on 12/31/08 and the BFC no longer has an expiration date. NOTE: In the official fine print of the brochure given to BFC recipients, Disney makes it clear that they reserve the right to change the program in any way at any time without notice, so at some point in the future, the BFC may indeed expire if Disney wants it to.

Q. What can't I use the BFC for?
A. According to the brochure, the BFC cannot be used for food or beverage service (accept as noted above), Disney gift cards, Disney Dollars, alcohol, cigarettes, resort folio charges, spa services or products, or personal services like face painting, caricatures, hair braiding or wrapping. In addition, the BFC may not be used at the following locations: the China, Japan, and Morocco pavilions at World Showcase, Arribas Brothers, Basin, Basin White, Cirque du Soleil, Curl by Sammy Duval, Ghirardelli, House of Blues, Hoypoloi, LEGO Imagination Center, Magic Masters, Magnetron, Niki Bryan Spas, Orlando Harley Davidson Store, Planet Hollywood, Rainforest Cafe, Richard Petty Driving Experience, Rubio Balloon Arts, SD Watersports, Sosa Cigar, Starabilias, Sunglass Icon, Surrey Bike Rental, Virgin Megastore, Wyland Galleries and any other locations or kiosks that are not owned and operated by Disney. Once again, when in doubt, ask first!

Q. Do I have to use the balance of my BFC in one location?
A. No, you can use it in multiple eligible locations.

Q. If I don't use the entire amount, can I get cash for the remaining balance?
A. No. You cannot redeem the card for cash under any circumstances. In addition, I also found in the fine print that you cannot exchange the card for cash with anyone anywhere, so don't even think about putting your card on eBay or other such sale/auction sites, OK? The BFC is intended for the recipient's use only.

I think that answers all of your questions concerning the Birthday Fun Card. It took me six cups of coffee to write it. How many did it take you to read it?

Happy Birthday, everyone!

A.A.
