It sounds too good to be true, but I've noticed that some people are getting or planning to get free dining. It seems to be for only certain times of the year. How does it work? Do you have to buy a package? I'm planning to celebrate my 50th at the EPCOT Flower and Garden Show next year and I was going to get the teacher discount rate at the Dolphin. Can I combine that with free dining? Does anyone have a link?

Free dining is only available at certain announced times. For instance, this time it is August 13 - September 30th. You have to have a regular priced room and buy at least a one day pass for Disney World.

But, all that considered, it sure is saving us money!

If you are planning to go at a time that free dining is offered jump on it. I have figured it will save us at least $500 for a 6 night stay for 2 adults and 2 kids. I look forward to it because it will give me an opportunity to eat at some restaurants that I haven't tried before. If you get on the Disney website or call them you can find out if it is available for the time that you are planning to be there and also which hotels you can stay at to be able to get free dining.

It depends on where you're staying. Several deluxe resort guests have reported that they're saving more money using available discounts (and purchasing the dining plan) than they would have saved with the free dining promotion.
