I am not sure if this has been posted before, but Kodak is offering a free express pass inside their Max Water & Sports Camera.

http://www.kodak.com/US/en/consumer/promotions/Universal/index.jhtml

In small print I see it says that it requires a full-price admission ticket purchase, & is valid from 4/15/03-2/28/04.

This is my first time venturing to this side of the boards, so I do not know if this is a good deal or not.

I hope this helps someone! :D

Thanks....I wonder if this is the same access you would get if you were staying at one of there hotels?

From this page on the Kodak website:

Enter through the designated express entry turnstile by showing your EXPRESS ride access pass and admission ticket and proceed to Vacation Services at Universal's Islands of Adventure® or Universal Studios Florida®.

Universal Studios Florida — Terminator 2: 3-D Battle Across TimeTM — JAWS —
MEN IN BLACK Alien Attack — TWISTER...RIDE IT OUT — Back to the Future The Ride

Get reserved seating at select shows by showing your EXPRESS ride access pass and admission ticket.

Looks like anice deal if you're not staying on site and can find the camera for a reasonable price and may have bought it anyway ...

I'm heading out to Walmart right now and I'll find out how much these cameras are. Hopefully it will be worth it.

Sounds like it's like the "fast pass" that you would get out of the machine to come back at a differant time. Only you can use it whenever you want too.

One of my co-mods bought one of these booklets when we were there in April. They have little tear off express passes that you hand to the CM like an UE pass.

If you already need a camera and you're staying offsite this is a great deal.

BTW, here's a link to the FAQs.

I went to Walmart today, and my Walmart doesn't have the cameras with that offer. They have the cameras, but not the Universal stuff with it. (I bought one anyways because I needed it) and it didn't have anything on it or in it. Darn!

What if a person has an annual pass? Does that count as full-price admission ticket?

This would have been a good deal had we been able to use it in conjunction with out annual passes. I wonder why they would exclude them.

Although you'd have to buy a camera per pass, when you think of the fact that their prices range from $10 - $15, you're getting a nice deal!

Here's the scoop from their FAQs:

Are there any rules with the EXPRESS ride access pass?
Yes, there are some rules with the EXPRESS ride access pass. The pass can only be used one time and it requires a full-price admission ticket purchase. The entitlements are subject to availability, subject to change without notice and are valid from 4/15/03 - 2/28/04. The entitlements cannot be combined with any other offer, they cannot be used in conjunction with any annual pass and they are not valid for separately ticketed events. The entitlements are valid for one (1) person per card at Universal Orlando® Resort and valid for six (6) people per card (but not valid for per capita sightseeing tours) at Universal Studios HollywoodTM. The pass is not valid at Universal Studios Japan or Universal Port Aventura at Universal Mediterranea. The pass is non-transferable and is for promotional purposes only; it cannot be sold, exchanged or bartered.

If you have already purchased a Power Pass or one of the multi-day passes, would this express ticket work? Or, do you need to get it validated at the time of purchasing a full price admission pass at a Universal gate?

Ok - I think I answered my question - but opened a new can of worms.

I called the 800 number for universal's ticketing and they told me that the flexticket was OK as long as I pay full price at the gate or through Universal. So buying it discounted would void the promotion.

Does anyone know how they would know what I paid for my flexticket? It wouldn't look different if I bought it from usoinfo.com or paramount than if I bought it from universal directly - would it?

When you go to guest services, they can pull up your pass and what you (or someone else) paid for it based on the bar code.

I know this, because last year we bought AP's and they had the Lottery ticket promotion where you get 2 years for the price of 1. We only paid $99 fanclub for AP's and Guest Services told us that we would have to pay the additional $60 (regular price) to qualify for the promotion, just by running the code on our AP's.

I wonder if the additional cost of buying the passes full price is worth it - we are going end of june - does anyone know what the wait is about that time?

Hey everyone! I just got back from Target and they have the cameras on sale for $9.99. So I bought 3. Woo Pee!:bounce:

I guess I'll have to pay full price for the park tickets now in order to take advantage of this. Well - we needed the cameras anyhow since I don't want to bring our good camera to the parks and have to worry about it.

Anyway now I'm thinking that if we are going to stay for 12 days we probably will be at USO and IOA for about 5 days and should I (can I) buy 3 more cameras since you only get FOTL once per card. Anyone know if they limit you to one card per park ticket??

Until we have a few people who actually use this pass and
share their experiences with us here, I think we'll
be confined to just guessing how it works.

I spent a half-hour on the phone last week with
Universal trying to pin down exactly what was meant
by "full-price" admission. The CSR I was on the phone
with at first tried to refer me to the Kodak web page,
which, of course, was the source of this confusion.
He then actually called the USF front gate
and spoke to someone on duty there.

And the best these folks could tell me was "you show your
ticket and the Kodak card to get it validated and receive
a booklet with the Express Passes." That, and
the fact that "annual passes aren't accepted." As far as
anyone I spoke with knew, any ticket that was not an
Annual Pass was acceptable.

I believe that may actually be the case. But, like I said
in the beginning, until someone actually uses this
and reports back, it's all a guessing game.

BTW, I also found the cameras at Target. Bought four of 'em
and our family intends to use them with our 5-days-for-the-
price-of-2 tickets next month. I'll let you know all about my
experience when we get back in early July.

Meanwhile, let's hope someone else shares first-hand
knowledge of this promotion here sooner than that!

I can't seem to find these cameras anywhere. Are they sold out, or just not out yet?

The cameras are most definitely out, but they may
not have arrived in your local stores yet. It's very
much an outdoors/summer type of camera -- it can be
used underwater or (because it has a higher-speed
film) at sporting events, but has no built-in flash for
indoors.

If you have a Target nearby, try there. That's where
I found mine. Regular price is $9.99, and I saw a
post elsewhere this weekend saying that Target is
offering a sale price of under $9.

I'm still waiting for someone that's actually used this
promotion to write about their experience. So far,
there seem to be a lot of us who are interested, but
no one who's actually tried it out at USF or IOA.

Good luck!
