Free Entry To Parks?

I didn't get that either, Cristi. I figured they must have meant the people who say their child is 2 when they are really 3 or 4 in order to get in for free.

I really don't think Disney has a problem with people bringing their own lunches into parks. Otherwise, when people brought in small coolers in strollers or when they check bags, they'd tell them to take the food out. Sure, they'd rather have you buy their food. And just b/c someone is eating a lunch they brought, it doesn't mean they are cheap. Disney is REALLY expensive for a lot of families, especially big ones. And for someone to complain that someone was sitting on a bench near a food court - come on, get off your high horse. ;) And using napkins for - free! Oh, my, you dirty thief! :rotfl2: So, every time you are traveling and you use a public restroom, do you make sure you buy something while you are there?

I mean, I agree that lying about your child's age to save on admission is wrong. But, things like using napkins or bathrooms, etc., are just generally accepted by most people/places. If they don't want you to do it, they generally post a sign saying so, like, "Bathroom for customers only." You get the picture. :)

This is in no means to just one person I do find it very ironic some of the same people critizing me for telling the OP he could make up a story are some of the people that very easily violate the rules of posting for signatures.
Okay, I'm confused. Aside from this being not of the topic under discussion, I just yesterday saw somebody's signature replaced with an alert that they'd exceeded the signature rules. Now, I don't know if that's automatic or if the monitors have to do it, but if a signature contains too much data, the DISboards takes care of it.
And again, I don't see WHAT this has to do with sneaking into a Disney park.

DIS members are warned when their signature is too large. If it is way over the guidelines they get that message. If after they are warned and they don't do something about a webmaster or super moderator can post that message also.

You can also report someone who has a large signature. You can turn off signatures if they bother you.

Was offered to let people go shopping. You left your license at the turnstile area. Discontinued I am told.
Probably too many sob stories 64 minutes later: "It took me so long in line to pay for this souvenir"

One thing I hate about parking garages is that you may have to pay for the next hour if the previous hour ends while you are waiting to pay at the exit. As a result I rarely patronize businesses that don't have free parking nearby.

Actually, this still must exist due to Federal Law, I bleive it is Federal and not a California Statething, basically what they do out here is you have to put down a deposit of a one day ticket and upon returning within the designated amou nt of time, I believe you get 90 minutes here your money is either refunded or simply not charged to your card if you used a credit card.

Oh, and as for the whole food thing, really it's a free country, there is nothing posted saying "only for those that buy food here" If they let the person in with the food, they have a right to consume it in the park, perhaps they had special dietary concerns that couldn't be addressed by Disney or perhaps they were Diabetic and needed food at set times and that was the nearest place to consume the food, but rather than going and using up what sounds like much needed table space they chose to sit on a nearby bench and eat, nothing wrong with using a few napkins and such, I would much rather they do that then scatter food everywhere, wouldn't you?

See - so many things are just taken out of context. I started my original "reply" as I might get in trouble but ... I told our story of how my husband got into Disney without paying (before the fireworks). How on earth would the CM know if he was lying about our son? Wouldn't know without walking with him to Soarin. My husband fully expected him to actually do this but the CM didn't. Up to that point in the thread it was noted that it was impossible - I just chose to state that it wasn't.

The OP asked if it was possible - it was possible and we didn't lie about it. I imagine he wouldn't do this, but some people might of thought of this "making up a story" as a way - I was the one that happen to put it in print and lo and behold - voila - the judgement began.

As far as all the other stuff - napkins, food, etc. I usually find it extremely crazy that so many people can criticize Disney guests about using the napkins, ketchup and stuff to put on the food they've brought in. I only gave some examples of things I've seen posted here on this board about complaints. It doesn't bother me in the least. I don't think people who bring their own stuff into Disney World are cheap - Disney is expensive! We have 5 children and buying "snacks" can be costly. I will always bring our own snacks into the park as long as it is allowed - which it is - thank you for allowing that to continue Disney.

Why do you keep discussing food and napkins in a thread that started out about entrance into Epcot? Hmmm..... :stir:

we may have stumbled on to something here, walk up to the international gateway with a bologna sandwich and a gaterade and tell the CM you just want to run in and grab a pack of mustard and a napkin so you can sit there and eat your food, maybe even offer him or her half of the sandwich,,,,,, just might work :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: popcorn::

Now, that might just work-- just be sure not to use any of those nice benches on the way to the Rose and Crown

No flames from me because it wouldn't really bother me and I don't think thousands of people are attempting this. But I do think it's funny how you say to tell a lie and then quote the Pope in your posts. :confused3

I agree with you!

Tell a lie, now that's good advice :confused3

Please, I am not trying at all to add to the beating er.. healthy debate?..Marie17 seems to be getting here. I did want to add a different viewpoint though regarding some of the signatures on TheDis. I don't know (yet) how to add all the fancy stuff to my signature & admire many (admittedly, not all) those on here.

BUT, I have always from first day on Boards to now valued the info in the signatures that state their WDW visits. I looked upon that info as helpful in assessing the advice from someone. Or asking for their advice. If they've stayed at a certain resort whether on-site or off-site (& how long ago) is helpful info, JMHO. I really never thought of it any other way -- certainly not as ego-strokers. I know mine was not put on there as such. Kind of thought it was almost essential disclosure! :surfweb:
:goodvibes

Well, I am not posting on this thread anymore so you all can type away as much as you like about my suggestion. Have fun in your judging.

Might work... but you may want to carry a small variety of sandwiches in case the CM doesn't fall, er, go for any bologna... :teeth:

I have seen people turned away at the front gates of Epcot around 8:50 that didn't have tickets. So I wouldn't count on getting in after the park closes.

Since 8:50 is BEFORE the park closes and a PP has said it is easy to walk in AFTER the park closes, do you base your comment on anything concrete?
Does anyone know if people have been turned away after 9PM?

Are you sure? This seems to be a strange aspect of theme park admission to be regulated by Federal, or even State or local, laws. I mean, they're private businesses. What'd be next? Movie theaters and theater-theaters being required to let patrons in for X number of minutes while they decide whether to see the whole show? Potential concert-goers getting in for the first act? Doesn't make sense. I would think as long as the theme park applied the same rules to every potential Guest, they can make whatever rules they want about short-term visits.

Well... OK...
You can go, but leave the football.
We may want to continue to play.
