I saw that too, is this new? We are new DVC members and will be at Disney starting Dec 21st. Would be cool if they did a Christmas one too!

Yes, this is new. Years ago, they used to have "Welcome home Wednesdays" at the Atlantic Dance Hall and you'd get a free snack at that and a free hat. Christmastime they used to have gatherings at the Epcot World Showplace (between UK/Canada.). Glad to see they're starting to bring some fun 'free' stuff back!

We will be there the second weekend, and that Friday falls on our resort day. I’d like to hear more about it before I decide to attend. Hopefully some members will post about their experiences!

We are gonna do it but figuring out the best way to get there from BLT.
If you are doing Hollywood Studios or Epcot that day it would be easy, otherwise, bus to Hollywood studios and either take a boat to the Swan/Dolphin or Boardwalk or walk the path to the Boardwalk. Or bus to Saratoga Springs and bus to Boardwalk.

We are checking in that day at BLT and plan to Epcot that evening.

You could take the bus to HS, and walk or boat to Boardwalk. Or just Uber/Lyft straight to BW is what I would do. They will let them drop you off there if you're registered for the event. Easy walk to Epcot after the event.

You don't register for the event. We won't uber anyway, family of 5 and car seats and well not paying extra money for a free event...LOL.

Just frustrating trying to get to things at hotels you can't park it.

Ah yeah with your group Uber doesn't make sense. Resort to resort with Disney Transport is always an adventure. Bus to HS then the boat wouldn't be too bad, just a bit time consuming. But at least you're right there at Epcot for the evening.

This almost sounds like the fun DVCMember get together parties during the holidays. They were inside Epcot and required registration to attend on specific dates.
I forgot what these events were called. Does anybody remember?
Merry Mixers

We can Monorail and walk through epcot also..but that is a beast...will depend on weather that day.

We’re checking in to the Treehouse Villas on the 22nd after a transatlantic flight, think the easiest option for us with a car is park at HS and then depending on laziness either walk, boat or even get the Skyliner. Agree think parking at Epcot is too much of a hike

Edit. Scrub that, why is this an afternoon and not an evening event, who’s going to break up their day for a 2 hour event you might not get into. Another “cheap” member benefit

I think to a point they are doing it that way to help filter crowds. Make it to easy to go to and there will be even more massive lines

Well flight doesn’t land until 3pm so that’s us filtered! Seem to remember a Halloween event in the Contemporary Conference Centre that we attended a few years back, that was an evening event
