FREE, FREE, FREE

Finally, a good DVC Point Calculator/Planner. (At least that's what I've been told
)
As an aid to DVC members in planning their vacations, I have put together an Excel spreadsheet that calculates point usages for planning your DVC vacations. Features include the following:
Color coded calendar, using same colors DVC uses in their point charts. Now know instantly what season a date is by looking at the color on the calendar.
Calendar covers a 2-year timeframe, beginning with any date the user enters.
Built in point charts for 2001 and 2002, no need to look up points. Charts can be updated by the user when Disney releases new years. No need to download the program again.
Includes all 6 DVC resorts: OKW, BWV, VWL, HH, VB, and BCV. (note: BCV is currently based on BWV chart and can be modified as required when Disney releases the official point chart.)
A full report page, showing your vacation dates, season colors, check-in and check-out dates, booking window dates for 11-months and 7-months, point usage.
To use the program, simply click directly on the calendar dates you want. The program automatically calculates points required. You change resort, room type (Studio, 1-BR etc, or view type (Standard / Preferred) at the click of a button, and points are automatically recalculated.
Full directions are included, explaining all functions, and even how to save vacation plans.
This program was tested the last couple of months by several DIS volunteers, and is now ready for distribution. (Thanks to everyone who helped here)
(A special note to the BETA testers: The final release has a few (minor) changes from the Beta copy, so you might want to download the very latest.)
Keep in mind two things:
1. This is a point PLANNER program. It is NOT a point TRACKING program. It does not track your points for banking, borrowing, or reservations. It does however help you plan your vacations by quickly comparing point requirements between different dates, resorts, rooms, or views.
2. This is an Excel spreadsheet. Therefore you must have Microsoft Excel to use it. If you have any other spreadsheet applications (Lotus, etc), you can try to convert it, but no promises here.
The file is a self-extracting zip file (*.exe format). Simply download it into any directory you want, then double click the "dvcpoint.exe" file you downloaded, and it will extract into the Excel spreadsheet file (Disney DVC Planner.xls) and an additional short Text file (Disney DVC Planner.txt) that gives some basic information.
I have put the program out for distribution on Simtel.net. Simtel verifies all files for distribution are free of any viruses, so you can rest there.
Click HERE to get to the Simtel.net site to download the file: "dvcpoint.exe"
Click HERE to see the product description.
Any feedback on the program would be appreciated. If there is enough interest, I may try to create a full *.exe file that will run independent of Microsoft Excel.
Enjoy. I hope you find this useful.
