Free Dinning Question-online ressies.

Okay this is prob. on the wrong board but, I know I can count on all of you to help. If I want to book online for DW ressies for 8/24-8/31 I want to stay at pop or port orleans. They are offering FREE dinning right now. and I want 7 days of tickets w/hopper and water park options..
Okay so I go through a Travel agt.. we won't mention names - I get a quote for cornado resort -(others not open) but 6 day ticket/hopper no water park $2018.00 for 2 adults 1 child (10)..

I go online to disney ressie- do the same can get my resorts - for same dates - 7 day ticket/hopper AND water parks added for pop is 1677.00
2013.00 for Port.. Okay now only issue is -- it doesn't show Free Dinning..

why not?? and why such a big price difference with the agent and online when I even went for more online with the added day ticket and water parks..

Any ideas on why the difference and HOW to get the free dinning option online??? I called CRO and systems are down till 11am today..

I'm wondering if you're clicking on the right link.

When you go the disney website, make sure you click on tickets and reservations on the top right.

Then, a new screen will pop up. On the left hand side, click on special offers. This will generate a new page that gives you the list of free dining offers. Click on one of those to generate the reservation page, scroll down a little and there's a button that says get started, click on that, and then price out your trips.

Nope wasn't clicking there.. I was using the pop up box that shows on the top left side.. and when you go that way it is charging you for dinning..
Okay I will try it the other way - - right now the system still isn't working online either - you get so far and it freezes..

That's funny, it just worked for me. Good luck, I hope you get what you want!

I was also between Pop and other resorts, but stuck with Pop. It's a great resort! I also love POFQ, so if you pick that I can live vicariously through you!

TarzansKat makes a good point....you have to go through the free dining link in order to get free dining. Disney will not "automatically" give you free dining when you book. Even if you call and book over the phone, you would have to tell them you want free dining....some CMs may or may not tell you it's going on if you don't ask .

well I went back on and see the link you all are talking about and I thank you all!! But after I "select" my resort.. it just sits idel with Tink on the screen
guess they are having issues too.

Well if I could afford it I would lean to the Beach club.. but that isn't happening this time.... I look at it this way - 3 of us going, don't plan to be in the room much - so why spend extra on that... SO... Pop is my top choice
my mom on the other hand would like the POFQ which I really like as well...
but again can't justify the extra if we don't plan to spend time in the room..
How about yourself..

When the site comes back up, click on Goofy- this will lead to the free dining link. Enter your dates, number of guest, then it will ask which resort. We love the Pop. I originally chose to stay at the POR, but decided to rent points at the Beach club. Make sure you make your dining reservations, if you haven't already done that. Have fun and good luck.

I hope this works out for you...8/24 - 8/31 didn't have any values left when I checked yesterday and the only moderate available was CBR in a preferred room. If you find the situation the same today, you might want to look into checking out on 8/30 (if your travel plans allow that) as there seemed to be better availability.

I have a three year old so being on the monorail would be like

Sadly, I do not have unlimited funds.

Therefore, we're at Pop. Which we actually really like, so I'm excited.
