Free Dinning Promotion Changing Resorts

If at this point I wanted in theory to change from one resort to another under this promotion. Would it be possible>??

Yes, I almost did it yesterday. I've been trying to upgrade to a moderate from Pop Century for our Free Dining trip at the end of August. I haven't had any luck finding availability at any moderate. I then asked about Wilderness Lodge. After being on hold quite a while, I was told that there was availability at Wilderness Lodge (I need two rooms) and that if I wanted to do it, they would transfer me to Guest Services. I said yes and was then transferred. I spoke to a great CM and she asked me if I was absolutely sure I wanted to make the change. It was going to cost me approximately $1,000 extra to move from Pop to WL. We had a little chat and I decided to think about it a while longer and to discuss it with my DH. She understood completely and told me I could call back and go through the same process again. I'm still thinking about it.

So, yes, it is definitely possible if there is a Free Dining room availability at the resort you're interested in.

Not every cast member at the reservation center is aware of this procedure of talking to Guest Services so sometimes you have to be insistent.

Conversely, I have been trying to switch from CBR to Pop. I have not been able to do so, not even at the time when I made our reservation. I've managed to tweak our budget to afford CBR, but I'd really prefer the savings and breathing room if we can get a room at Pop.

Only once (or maybe twice) has the CM at CRO actually placed my on hold to check "in the back" for availability. I only heard "all of the values are sold out". I keep trying, at least once a day, hoping someone cancels.

I called to change from Pop to CSR with free dining. I was informed that if I make the change we will lose our free dining plan. Last year I changed resorts twice with not problem.

I just called to see if we could move out of ASSports to another value because their main pool is closed while we are going to be there, and there are no openings. When I first made the reservations I asked the CM if we could call back later on too see if something had open up in some other value with out losing the free dining (I had made the resessies late not knowing if we were going to go this year with our new baby), and she said that those rooms would go into the regular reservations pool (no free dining). Does anyone have the guest relations number, I've been calling the regular reservation line. Thanks

I don't believe there is a direct line for guest relations you just have to ask to be transfered.

The CM wasn't able to do it but someone in Guest relations changed us over. We had to go through such a hassle with previous cast members to change resorts that guest relations said they will give us a 1 day tickets to the Illuminations cruise. I have never been on something like this before so we are looking forward to it.

The changes can be made after 6/24 - they just have to done by Guest Services and Free Dining rooms have to available at the resort you want.

June 24th was the deadline for new Free Dining bookings.

Yes, I am aware of this. I have been trying for days and have only gotten past CRO once or twice since 6/24. So far I haven't succeeded in calling where there was an available room at Pop.

I've had the same problem trying to get a moderate. The change is allowed, however, I can't find availability at any moderate. I've even tried the ZJZ code which would give me a room discount, but I would pay for the dining. Still, no moderate available for my dates.

I wish we could swap reservations. I want your CBR and you want my Pop. Unfortunately, I need two rooms.

I'm going to keep trying.

I have a question for you:

I'm trying to do the same thing...change my free dining ressie from Sports to Music or Pop. I've called twice, and both times the CM just states there is no availability at any other Value. Is this the point where I would request to be transferred to Guest Services....? Or does the CM have to see availability first, then transfer the call so the change can be made by GS..??

I just called CRO to switch from POR to any value and I was told that there are no rooms available to switch free dining at this time but to keep trying back. The cast member also tried to find room-only code during the same time (Sept. 12-19) but the values were sold out. He said to keep checking back on that also. I was able to find a room with the same discount on expedia.com. I am still trying to decide what to do.
