Free dinning/ Park Hopper

Crazy question. Is it true if they offer free dinning you must have park hoppers or water park tickets get get the free dinning?

Yes, for 2015 FD and for the bounce backs made then for 2016 too.

Yes, last year we had to have hoppers for free dining. We actually used them so much I plan to buy them for our next trip.

That depends on how many table service meals you would like to do and how much they would cost. Would you be happier doing more counter service meals and park hopping?

If you want any sort of a discount do not book now. If people are booked then Disney will have no incentive to offer discounts. So no it's not better to put dining on your reservation, it's better to not have a reservation if you are waiting for a discount.

We had been unsure about park hoppers but because it was a requirement with free dining we went with and we'll add it next time because we really enjoyed the freedom. One day we hopped to 3 parks.

Park hoppers is anout an extra $65 a ticket, so $260 for the 4 of us, roughly $50 a day for our 5 night stay. A room only discount at CBR (where we stayed) would have been roughly $50 a night. So for free dining to save us koney, we had to spend over $100 a day. For us with 3 adults and 2 kids (one under 3), it wq wroth it. We did a lot of buffets which cost more than that on their own (sometimes double) and that meant our quickservice and snack credits were bonus.

With free dining you need to do the math and see if it works for you and your family or whether a room. Only discount would be better.

My DD was booked at POR and was offered a pin code for Deluxe that included 30% off and hoppers tossed in. She was going that time frame anyway, and had chosen for the first time to skip the hoppers. They love them, but....


With the PIN she was within her budget and got the Poly. it was l=moe than her original booinking at POR, but still withing her comfort level for her favorite resort ever

It's actually a spelling error, not a grammatical one . . .

If you want free dinning (a loud, annoying, prolonged noise), I suggest going to the Poly beach during the electric water pageant.

If you want free dining, there is no point in booking now. Just wait until the promo is released (if it's released at all) and book then as having an existing reservation guarantees absolutely nothing when the discounts come out. And, yes, in the last free dining promo, you had to add hoppers or WP+F.
