Free dinning for late summer 2013?

Does anyone know when they will likely put this up? Will you need a pin for it and if so how do you get one. I noticed that the one for this year starts on Sunday Aug 26th so is it likely that the one for next year will be starting on Sunday Aug. 25th? If you book your holiday before the offer can you get it applied to your trip when it comes out? Seems like something I don't want to miss but not sure of all the ins and outs of it. Thanks!

OK, so first the usual caveat that one can never guarantee that a discount will be reapeated. Having said that, there has been free dining for late Aug to late Sept for several years now. IIRC the offers came out very early. There was a special free dining offer for Canadians only this year that came out during the winter. The general free dining offer for this year came out in early March.

The prices for 2013 vacation packages will come out sometime this summer. No one knows when for sure. At that time you could book a package for next summer/early fall. When (if) free dining is offered for the period when you will be in WDW you could call and ask that the discount be applied to your reservation (assuming that your resort is eligible for the discount). Occasionally this could mean changing resorts or even changing dates by a few days in order to get the discount. There is always limited availability- only a certain number of rooms at each resort qualifies for a particular discount.

Because of the real possibility that you might have to change your vacation dates by a day or two to get the discount I would strongly suggest that you have all of your reservation details finalized before getting flights booked.

Around August 10th 2011, I booked free dining for this August 19th. So i'd be watching for another possible offer in August 2012 for August 2013. Last year was the first time I ever saw such an offer. No pin was required.

We are booked in for Next Aug 14th through the 24th currently but have lots of flexibility!

PensFan your really ahead of the game here...you've booked over a year in advance! I was thinking I'd wait until sometime in the fall if the free dinning plan doesn't come out in the fall. Just trying to figure out the starting date might be for the general free meal plan that came out this spring, as a back up plan. We'll get the dinning plan either way but if I can get if for free that will be great and even better beacuse I talked myself out of doing a value resort and to go with a mod. I have to say when I was looking at resorts when I realized we would be able to go back (I thought we would do our one token trip to Disney but then my mother passed away and with the money my parents left me we are going to use some of it to do another trip to Disney! My Mum knew how much our girls wanted to go again so I figured she'd approve of using some of the money for this) to Disney, CS really caught my eye! We did POR last time and really liked the grounds but I'd like to do something else as I doubt we will talk DH into a thrid trip to Orlando! Going with two rooms though as five of us in one room was just to much! So to make a long story short having free dinning would really be great! Here's to keeping our fingers crossed that this deal happens again this August! I figure they will need all the Canadians they can get coming since Europe is going to hell in a handbasket and most of them won't be able to afford to come...that's my theory and I'm sticking to it!!!!

Well currently we just have the room booked! We really wanted to stay at the new AoA Mermaid rooms so not knowing how bad the demand would be we wanted to book once we were able too. I have yet to do any of the extras like Meal Plans, Tickets etc as that is not yet currently available for another few weeks so I plan on calling them back in a few weeks to book that stuff AND to find out if a deal comes along like the one discussed in this thread if I can get the best deal even If I am already booked. So time will tell...

We just like to book early so we can plan and save accordingly plus we are a visual family its nice to see the finish line and work for it!

Thanks for posting that Caisland!! I was starting to think I dreamed that whole thing last summer and I really want to watch for it this summer since we are planning a return trip for August 2013. Those extra few days in August that were offered to Canadians will really make the difference for us. I will be watching close all of August 2012 for this.

I've never booked through Disney and would probably do a booking online so I was wondering if there is a special site for Canadian deals/offers? I go to Disney.ca but as soon as I click onto special offers it seems to kick me to the regular US site??

Our last trip I let CAA do the booking but I think this time I will just do it all myself. I believe you just do it through the US site or call them. I think I'm going to have to call them as you can't seem to book standard rooms at CS online, they just seem to show the suites. We need two and hopefully connecting ones so I want to talk to a person. Also I don't know if it makes any differnce but I have buildings I'd rather stay in then others due to proximity to the big pool and bus stop. If the free dinning deal comes up again in August I'll be booking right then for Disney. We are going to spend half the trip at Universal but I think I can wait to do them for a while as they don't seem to have many deals, though it seems there the longer you stay the cheaper the room.
