Free Dining?

Hello - can anyone tell me please if there is a free dining promotion offered what is the earliest time that you can call to have it added to a current reservation? Thank you for any info

Thank you these links have a lot of great info - but I didn't see an answer to my question - I am curious as to what time I can make the phone call on the day it is released - is it 6am? or 7am? or do they answer sooner than that?

The phone lines open up at 7 am but be prepared for a lengthy wait. Tons of other people will be calling at 7am as well to book free dining and in the past, some people have waited hours to speak with a cast member. In the past, people have been able to book the promo online a few hours before the phone lines open (last year it was 4am), so if you decide to wait and call, availability for some resorts/ room categories may be limited. Right now, we do not know when (or IF) free dining will be released for the US. People will post on the disboards thread linked by a previous poster above whenever there are any dates rumored.

Call at 7am and be prepared to be on hold. Also know that you can't just add it to a current reservation. If your resort or room category is not available for that promotion, you may need to switch hotels and rooms entirely.

If you haven't paid off your current stay plan to be online and book a new stay and cancel the old one. You get your money back you put down but will need to front $200 deposit. I do not recall when these are updated online but think it's closer to midnight several hours prior to phones opening up.

last year there were quite a few people who had pre-booked packages expecting to add Free Dining and were out of luck.
The resorts they picked was not on the list of Free Dining or an available resort with rooms for FD was very limited.
I would not book a package expecting to add FD, but if you are willing to pay for the package even if you don't get FD then that's the only reason to pre-book.

I will concur with the PP's. The best way to snag free dining is online as soon as it comes online (last time it was around 4 am on release day). If you are able to modify your reservation online, you can try that. If not, I would plan on making a brand new reservation and cancelling your current one. As others have said, the phone lines will be incredibly busy and hold times will be long (in years past, they were HOURS long) and, while you are waiting on hold, others are snagging their free dining reservations online.
