Free Dining?

I haven't paid much attention to anything other than DVC recently. Does anyone know if free dining is being offered in May? I hope it's not. It always makes dining far less enjoyable. Just trying to set my expectations early.

A friend of mine here at work has just received confirmation of their trip in early June, and they were surprised that they got FREE DINING, as listed on the confirmation.

As of yet Disney hasn't released Free Dining this year to the States. UK has had Free Dining offered, so I assume it is coming to US too. At the end of last year they were offering Free Dining for 2011 but I don't remember if May was in the time frame or not. There are PIN codes out there so I'm sure some will be on Free Dining.

I think we need to start getting use to Free Dining. It has been a major hit for Disney and if it keeps the resorts and parks full during normal "slow" time periods, they will keep offering it. If it wasn't profitable for them they wouldn't have done it as many years as they have been.

The general public Free Dining offer that needed to be reserved by 12/20/10 has Free Dining in May 2011 from the 27th - 31st.

However just because those are the dates for Free Dining there are always going to be guests who purchased the regular Disney Dining Plan, Deluxe Dining Plan and Quick Service Dining Plan that are available anytime. So those guests will also need ADR's and etc, so Free Dining doesn't make a difference when it comes to getting ADR's and how busy the restaurants will be.

My sister is going in Aug. 2011 and getting free dining. I do not like to go there during that time, can't get any resturants to eat at.
