Hi,

We are thinking about a trip next summer, doing two Disney parks and also Universal and Sea World. Do we as DVCers qualify for free dining ( nice for a big family like mine!). We may try to sneak down before football starts for my boys.

Also, any tips on how to do a dual vacation, in and out of Disney. I realize a car is a must this time around. Any other thoughts?

Yes, anyone can get free dining. You just have to pay rack rate for your room and buy at minimum a 1-day base ticket. (Free dining is not offered to DVC members staying on points.)

Ahhh, that is what I was wondering, if we could still get it staying on points. Good to know.

:confused3

Free dining is just a way to fill up the rooms at WDW with hurricane season in full swing and kids going back to school.

You might want to check the DDP board.

You don't always have to pay rack rate. I don't follow it anymore, but I know sometimes they have offered DDP with 40% codes on rooms.

Or, just call CRO and see what their best deal is.

While it's true that we don't get free dining on points stays, many DVCers have taken advantage of free DDP at other onsite resorts, either as a separate trip or as part of a split stay.

Ah, but we're talking about FREE dining - and the room discount codes are never combinable with free dining. (Even with paid dining, at deluxe resorts 40% off might be a better deal). You do always have to pay rack rate to get the free dining.
