Hi wondering if anyone can help. I booked a package holiday with TCD a few years ago and got free dining. If I book flights and a hotel seperatly will it still be possible for me to get free dining (when its on offer again)? Would I have to book directly with disney for the hotel or can I book with another company and still get it?

Thanks

you have to book hotel and tickets together to get the free dining.

We booked direct with disney last sept for this year and then got the flights with VA directly

Check out the 14 days for the price of 10 I did, swapped my free ddp for that and saved £287 in the process.

Has to booked with Hotel and tickets.
Free dining is no longer available for this year.
Last few years free dining is advertised in national newspapers/tv from August (I think) and you have a date that you have to be booked by.
We had originally booked ours in Aug last year with TCD (previous trip booked with TC, but were not offering it this time round) When TCD went down, we rebooked with Disney.co.uk and flights direct with BA

If you're interested in booking free dining for this year it usually comes around beginning of April for the Americans (but anyone can book), just contact someone at Dreams Unlimited, the Disney travel service recommended by the Disboards, my agent there is Rhonda, she's fabulous :) You can book your room, tickets and free dining through her and she can make your dining reservations for you and help you plan out an itinerary, they're great and they are the same price as Disney as they charge Disney for the service, not you. Highly recommend them. Her email is rhonda@dreamsunlimitedtravel.com

You can get really cheap flights with Virgin and BA for September each year, i've never paid more than £300 to fly to Orlando. Sales usually come up around May/June.

Do you mean the flights for the current year or the following year?

I mean for the current year. You can book flights now for around £320 for this September (Expedia) but they involve stopovers of a couple of hours as they are with the American airlines. Not a big deal but if you want a direct flight you may have to wait a few more months for the sale prices to come out.

I subscribed to the Free dining watch thread over on the restaurant board and right now there is a huge buzz about it being offered any time now on the US site :) . Apparently some CM's have been hinting around and that they did that this time last year as well! The big question is, when will it be offered for and which dining plan will it be- quick or regular? I can travel between the very end of Sept. through mid December so perhaps we won't get free dining but maybe they will repeat the 4/3 offer. That would be amazing!
All I know for sure is I can hardly wait to make up my mind and book already :upsidedow !

As long as you arrive on the very last day of free dining you will be entitled to free dining for the whole of your stay, even if it spills into October.

Definitely ask Rhonda if she's heard of any news yet about free dining, she will put you on her email list anyway and let you know when its available.

The full dining service might only be for deluxe hotels and the others might only be the counter service free dining. However you can pay the difference to upgrade, might only be around £100 to upgrade and may be worth it if you want to do lots of TS meals.

I'm getting excited for you!! :yay:

Thanks booknut :goodvibes. I do use Dreams Unlimited, Stacy is my TA and I did end up email her. I couldn't help it, and she was very positive in her reply about discounts of some sort for the second half of the year so that's good! I am probably going to go ahead and book soon, as I can easily change it when it's this far out without a penalty if something better comes up.

I've talked to my DBF and it looks like we should if all goes well book for late Nov/Dec. again :) . However I will wait to post my little guys (:yay: ) until I'm certain, as I already once had to cancel a trip in 2007 and that was awful!
But ooh I'm excited, and thanks for being excited for me :goodvibes ! Also thanks for reminding me that we could still get FD if we have booked a trip on the last day. Good to know!
