I currently have a 2 week DVC ressie booked. Aug 30 - Sept 13. I just received a free dining pin.

I booked 2 weeks free dining at POP for the same time period. With 4 Disney adults traveling (DS16 & DS17)it's quite a savings. We are going to stay in our SSR room but use our room keys at POP for free dining. I have some relatives coming for a few days 9/2 -9/5 and 912-9/13. I'm going to put them in POP.

Now, I'm reading that if I'm not in the room for the whole time I'm doing something illegal? Is this true? I definitely don't want to break any rules. TIA.

Where are you reading that it is illegal? You do plan to pay for the POP package, right? ;) ;) ;) :)

I'm sure there will be some that don't approve, but I doubt it is against the law and I doubt Disney cares who stays in the room.

You've paid your $, it's your room do use as you please(no destroying:rotfl2: )You have done nothing wrong. Enjoy your vacation:thumbsup2

I've left a day early from a Value free dining trip. We had booked the extra day for the 2 adult/2 junior dining credits, which were worth over double what we paid for that extra night. We just left.

Over on the resorts board they said that if mousekeeping saw we weren't in our room they'd cancel the ressie. It had me worried. Thanks for your responses. I feel much better now. :goodvibes

We are paying for our POP package of course.:) Thanks again.

I'll volunteer to go to WDW and "hold" the room for you. I could mess up the beds, throw towels on the floor, and give it a real lived-in look. I'll even do it for free! ::yes::

You are a REALLY REALLY GOOD PERSON to make that kind of sacrifice:rotfl2:

I got that email too, but I can't figure out how it can be a saving? If we stay on points and pay the DDP, for 2 of us it is $40 x 4 night x 2 people = $320. How can ipaying rach package get cheaper than that?? Please explain. Thanks.

The OP will have four adults in the FDP value room. Value season rate is $82/84 + tax, so around $90 for room. You can adjust package to purchase a 1 day MYW base ticket and upgrade once you go thru gates. The DP would run $40 a day per adult (as you know) so 4 x $40 =$160.00 You are paying 90 for room & getting back 160 in food credit.
Tickets are a non-factor for us, you need them anyway & we upgrade to AP's.
