Can someone summarize for me what the free dining offer was? I'm just curious. I am amazed Disney offered something for free. :goodvibes

Thanks.

They really didn't but people feel better when they feel that they are treated special. There were a limited number of packages made available to fill the resorts during the slow time of year. You paid rack rate for your room and bought your ticket. In return you received food credits. I talked to one Guest who goes every year solo for free dining. Based upon his eating habits, he would have been better off booking a room at discount and paying out of pocket for his food. I tried to explain my logic to him but he wanted free food. :confused3

Once a year disney offers the dinnig plan for free. It is true that you pay full price for the room and park tickets, But we really enjoy having the dinnig plan ! We eat at places we wouldent eat otherwise and we dont have to worry about spending souvenir money on food:banana:

i have never seen a 40% off room rate:sad2: When we look for rates online, but the dinig plan makes me happy:rotfl:

For a single person, a room discount could easily equal the free dining. The more people in the room, the less likely this would be true though.

Plus, Disney randomly upgraded many people from values to villas the last 2 years. My $82/night for a 1 BR is nowhere near rack rate, so I DO consider my food to be truly free. :wizard:
