Free Dining

Does Disney typically do the free dining promo every fall? Just wondering because we are thinking about a trip sometime in 2008 between September and December. What are other good promo's too look for in the fall?

They have done so for the past few, but the Dining Plan itself is only three years old, and so we cannot even assure you that the Dining Plan will be available for purchase next year. Disney evaluates the market each year and makes its offerings commensurate with what they know. It is likely, though, that there will be some kind of promotion intended to attract guests to stay at WDW during the heart of hurricane season in August and September next year.

Last September, my BF and I got a GREAT deal on an AKL with a savanah view. We stayed 9 nights and the cost for the room, park tickets (w/hopper), and DDP (which we paid for), was LESS than what Disney is now quoting me for a Port Orleans water view room for 9 nights, with park tickets (no hopper) and free dining.

Remember that in order to receive free dining, you must pay the rack rate for the room. Last year, it was more cost effective for us to pay for the dining plan.

I have gone during free dining the past 3 years they have offered it.
It seems the date window gets shorter each year. It was only like 30 days this year and I believe we went in October last year becuase we were there for the Food & Wine festival and MNSSHP.

It is a nice deal, if they offer it again I highly recommend it.
Before free dining there was, buy 4 nights get 3 free, no that was a deal
That was post 9/11 when attandence was very low, I feel those days are long gone.
