free dining?

Ok, so I know that the information has probably been posted but I havent paid any attention to it because we were originally going to wait until next year to go since we just put an ingroud pool in. We go to Disney every June and have never had the opportunity to take advantage of the free dining. My question is this...Is the free dining available this year and if so, during what dates? We have decided that we may go in the fall as I am having withdrawls just from having no reservations made. We are going in June of 08 for my sons graduation from high school, but even the kids are moping and complaining that they wished that we were going to Disney this year. So, we decided to plan a trip, not tell the kids, wake them up and let them think that they are going to school, only we will be detouring to the airport. I cant wait. Anyways, I will stop rambling...I am just so excited since originally I too thought that this year was out.

Free dining is not open to the public yet this year, and it may not be opened at all. Keep checking back - it came out around March/April last year =)

No "free dining" package promotion has been announced yet for the general public. Last year it came out in April (offered first 3 days to Disney VISA holders, then for everyone) and it was for check ins 8/13 - 9/30/06.

There has been a 2007 free dining promotion for UK residents only for check ins 8/12-9/29/07 (offer exp 11/6/06), and it has been offered as part of a special "bounceback" package that you could book for check ins 8/5-9/29/07 if you were staying in a Disney resort (offer exp 12/31/06) - so most people do think that it will be offered again this year.

Free dining is getting the Disney Dining Plan for free. So you get 1 table service credit, one counter service credit, and one snack credit, per person per night that you are at WDW.

The dining plan is an option you can add to your package, it is usually at an addition cost. During slow times... they sometimes offer it for free WITH a package. Look here for what it includes.

Thank you so much everyone. I though I had lost my mind since I couldnt find it and had heard of the offer in the past and had even seen post of the plan this year. I guess I never caught the whole "possibly coming in 07". That helps alot.

Kimi313, I can't wait. I have been dreaming of such a great big surprise for them like this for a long time. I have a son who will be 17 and a daughter who will be 11 this summer and they LOVE Disney just as much as I do. You should have seen their faces when we announced that we werent going this year but that we would be going on the 7day cruise and 7 days at Beach Club next year. They both said, "cant we go one week this year and one next?" They are so funny. I look foward to the surprise, I am so excited it will really be hard to keep it from them. I thought of maybe making up a scavenger hunt for them and leaving them clues to find too, but kind of want to wait til that morning to tell them...dont know, we'll see. Either way will be great!!!

we did the same thing many years ago when our kids were 8 & 7 yrs old.
we told them that we were driving DD to airport to go on business trip.
Meanwhile I had packed their suitcases..and so funny at that age they never questioned me..Even when we had 4 suitcaes and Daddy was taken off on the plane.

Once we were asked to board , we had to tell them..I think they were shell shocked..

today they are 17 and 16...they still talk about it..
