Free Dining ??

From Mousesavers:

No foolin' - FREE dining is coming back at Walt Disney World! Yes, for stays starting August 13 - September 30, you can get the Magic Your Way Plus Dining package for the price of a regular Magic Your Way package! This was a hugely popular deal last Fall. ONLY Disney Rewards Visa cardholders can book this package starting April 1. The general public will be able to book it starting April 4!

its the dining plan that many are currently paying for.. we just got back from our 7 day trip and paid for the dining plan.. boy it was ALOT of food.. I kept up with every thing we ate and went to Debs site and priced it and we pd $750 for the dining plan and got $1082 worth of food!! We did alot of character meals because that was what the kids wanted to do.. It was nice to get anything on the menu we wanted and not have to worry about the price but it was too much food.. if we were buying our own food we wouldnt have bought quite so much, so not really sure how much we came ahead with that in mind.. I was glad we did it though, because if we were paying for the actual food, it would have all been table service and my kids got tired of the burgers, chicken strips, etc and were thankful for the table service meals.. But with it being FREE, its definitely a good deal.. You get 1 table service meal, 1 counter service meal and 1 snack which includes icecream, popcorn, desert, coke or water.. Each person gets one of each of these per night you are there.. so if you go 6 nights/7 days than you would get 6 of each of them for each person..

 DH and I took advantage of this offer last summer ... it was GREAT!!! This time we'll be taking our four girls for an even better deal!!!

Is it depending in which resorts you stay ? Is it available even if you're an all-star guest ? It seems too nice for being true...

may I jump on the question bandwagon?

*jumps*

'k, we're booked for january '07, staying at pofq/akl. we booked through virgin, but it's from their disney brochure, we're booking tickets and were given the option to buy the dining plan, do you think we'll be able to book the free dining? it would make a huge difference to our trip :wizard:

Yep , It is avaliable to the All Star guest also.
Which makes it a really great deal for famiiess who want a value vacation at Disney.
Last year we (dh,myself,dd,dsil and our 3 year old grandson ) stayed At All Star Music in a peferred room for 8 nights.
The two rooms,8 day park hopper plus tickets and the free meal plan for
the 5 of us was just $2,013.

DH and I going back to All Star Music in September so we can take advantage again.

We are getting a preferred room for 7 nights with 7 day park hopper tickets and the free dining for a total of $1224.86

What a deal!

It works for me!

The pools at The All Stars are very kid friendly.

When staying at the All Stars you can use any of the All Star pools. That means 3 main pools ,3 quiet pools and 3 kiddie pools to chose from.

The All Star Movie Fantasia pool has Mickey.

The Calypso pool at ASMU has Donald Duck.

And the Surfs up pool at All Star Sports has giant surf boards.

Here are a few pool photos.

Never done the dining plan before because we usually have an AP and DDE card, but won't be renewing until Christmas.

From what I've read, the counter service includes your meal, a drink, and a dessert, with table service including an appetizer, entree, dessert, and drink. Am I correct on this? What about for kids? Do they get desserts at every meal and appetizers at the table service ones? I can't imagine my DS eating so much food, but we'd certainly be able to sample lots of stuff we never order!

Yes you are corrent.
The kids however have to eat from the childrens menu.
If desserts and appetizers are offered on their menu they can order those also.
