Has anyone gotten free dining with only a one day park ticket? I have tried the general free dining code and AAA free dining, 2 pins for free dining and they all require 2 days park tickets.

Yes, DD got a pin code last January for Aug-Sept free dining and it only required a 1 day park ticket. Unfortunately for us, we had to cancel our Sept trip and reschedule to later in October. The pin was not good for Oct. dates, so I had to purchase a 2 day ticket for that reservation with the FD. I'm hoping for AP discounts to come out, as I really don't want to purchase a 2 day tickets since I already have APs.

We had to buy a two day ticket this year for free dining, last year it was only a one day ticket required. We figure, no biggie, we will just save it and upgrade it the next time we go as currently we are AP holders.

Some of the PIN codes allow free dining with a one-day park ticket but you have to receive one of those to use it. All general public offers in 2010 require at least a 2 day park ticket.

If you don't want to use the 2 day ticket immediately, do you also have to add non-expiring to it?

No. Tickets are good for 14 days from first use. If you don't use it until July 2013 then the 14 day clock doesn't start until July 2013. It won't expire until after you first use it.
