I am wondering what folks are doing about the FD offers that have come out this week!

I am curious to know how many people are taking advantage of the Free Quick Service plan and how many are upgrading to the full Disney Dining Plan.

I had asked that same question on another thread...

I went ahead and upgraded because we are staying 10 nights and we wont feel rushed in the parks knowing we have to hurry to every dinner.

I wasn't sure where to put this thread?

What was the consensus on the other thread?

I finally got MY WISH :cool1: for our Nov/Dec trip. I used the free dining code for our current reservation and upgraded to the regular dining plan. I saved $137. I'm happy and now can rest at night hopefully. Hurry up Nov/Dec!!!!! What are you doing???

I stayed with my original ressie at Pop Century and took the free quickservice plan. I think it will work better with our plans, plus I won't have to pay any tips, which makes the free dining plan not so free.

Interesting - on both polls (although not scientific and a limited number :) ), it appears that new bookings are still not happening and most people are just upgrading or changing reservations. I'll be curious to see any advertising to the general public about these deals for fall. I think bookings must be WAY down for all these big offers.

We just added one day on a separate ressie and used the room only discount. We already had military discounts on the room and tickets so free dining would have actually cost us more. (oh and we're not staying value or it might have been different)

We are staying at All Star Sports and upgraded to the DDP - only $10/person/day additional and it's what we had on the original reservation anyway. As a comment about new bookings, could it be that this poll is a little skewed since most of us on the boards are "in the know" and would most likely have a ressie booked just waiting on a deal? I know we would have kept ours either way, but there is much talk about holding a ressie until a deal comes out and cancelling if it doesn't.

We were doing room only because we had days left on non-expiring tix, but with free quick service we re-booked the package.

Interesting to see how many upgraded at the values to regular dining. Really, am thinking they'll end up keeping free dining this way and only offer the QS, knowing that they'll fill the value resorts anyway, and people will upgrade to deluxe.

Couldn't vote - upgrading to deluxe really made free dining not much of a deal, not worth it for us to add one-day base tickets, and did better with an AP rate and adding deluxe dining to that. Any savings was lost when added the cost of the one-day tickets.

I'm one of those who will be upgrading our (FREE DINING!!) QS Dining Plan to a Regular Dining Plan. Think it'll be worth it since we're definitely gonna want to have some Character Meals and maybe do Hoop Dee Doo Revue.
So, this dining plan is for ALL the days we're staying at the resort? Or is it for the first 10 days only? :confused3 We'll be staying for more than 10 days...

We were going to book a Value with an upgrade to the regular Dining Plan. After checking the numbers a Mod Resort was only $200.00 more with Dining Plan and we are staying at Port Orleans-Riverside. We stayed at Sports last year and loved it.
