Free Dining + Wedding Planning = We're In!! PTR - UPDATED 8/26: Trip Report Started!

I completely understand where your coming from... we walk fast in the parks too. :lmao: Really fast...

Ohhh but I purchased the first pair for our last trip, exact same ones except mine were gray and white. I didn't wear them beforehand and believe it or not.. they HURT like crazy, I had major blisters and it was just awful. I"m so glad I brought my old 5 dollar walmart sandals because there was NO way i was lasting 7 days in those. :scared1:

NO :rotfl:

I always make a countdown!! It hads to the fun!!

Ooooh...good to know! I really like them, even for everyday use, so maybe I'll buy them and give them a test run around town. I have super narrow feet so I'm always worried about slipping and blisters, so I definitely don't want to deal with that in Disney!

Yesterday was our 45 day mark (of course, I was reminded by that fat balance due!)....so almost time to start a countdown poster! :lmao:

Thursday, August 21

So, this was supposed to be our last day. The original plan was to sleep in a bit, pack up, check out and head to DTD. We're sort of obsessed with Earl of Sandwich and their roast beef sandwiches, so we were going to do some shopping, eat @ Earl and head out. But, now that we're staying, our plans have changed a bit.

I think we still may sleep in a bit. Who knows. We're going to totally play this day easy. Whatever we feel like doing... If we missed something, hit it. If we loved something, do it again. We have no ADR this night, so I figure we'll hit a CS for dinner at MK and stay there until it closes. We might head over to Epcot at 10 to take advantage of EMH. We still might hit DTD. Plus, I want to head over to the Boardwalk to check out SBP...get a feel for the wedding location. Plus, I want to check out the BWI. That's we're planning to stay for the days around the wedding because of it's proximity to SBP. Want to make sure we like it.

On a sidenote, I paid the balance on our trip, which means we're less than 45 days out! Feeling very excited...and poor! :rotfl:

So this will be our last full day in the park....

Day 6
I definitely want to get up and take advantage of a.m. EMH at DHS . We won't be hitting the other a.m. EMH at DHS because it's the morning after a p.m. EMH at MK, so this is our last chance.

We'll probably only stay for a couple of hours then I want to head over to the Boardwalk area. So, we'll either walk or catch a boat over. The only time I've done the trip from DHS to the Boardwalk was during the marathon earlier this year....and it was around mile 24-25, so I was pretty out of it. I honestly couldn't tell you anything about it, other than it was my first time seeing the Boardwalk/Yacht & Beach Club area and I thought it was cool. I was mentally and physically fried! :crazy2:

We have a 7:20 ADR at Whispering Canyon Cafe this night. Sort of ironic that our ADR for WCC is on a night we're not staying at WL. When we started discussing staying an extra night or two, I wanted to make ADRs right away, just to be safe. I made one for Coral Reef and one for WCC. Well, I told DF about Coral Reef, who is a huge seafood lover, and he surprised me by saying it felt really weird eating fish in front of an aquarium. :confused3 :lmao: But, he thought WCC sounded great. So, I canceled our ADR for CR and kept WCC. Then we decided to stay off-site that night. Oh well...no biggie. We were going to have to go somewhere on property.

Hoping to be done at WCC in about an hour, so we can head over to MK for one last hurrah at night. It's probably going to be packed because there are p.m. EMH Friday night, but it's our last chance, so we'll brave it. We'll probably call it a night after we leave MK, although we don't plan to leave early for home (we usually spend our last morning at DTD), I do want to get a good night's rest for the long drive on Saturday night. :)

So that's our itinerary, as of now.

I think I'm going to start adding some wish lists to my PTR... things I want to do, eat, see, try, etc.... So look forward to that. :goodvibes

I love your plans so far..especially that your staying an extra day!!

Congrats on paying off your balance for this trip!!!! :lmao: I completely understand how your feeling!!!

Just found your PTR through another thread. We're staying at the Wilderness Lodge for the first time in August too! I'm so excited! All your plans look great so far. :thumbsup2

Thirty days until I hit the World....wooohooo!! :cool1:

So I went to the Crocs web site to check on the flip flops I want to order and they are having a special one-day sale...15% off every pair of Crocs on the site! Plus, they're offering free ground shipping in July. I took that as a sign I should buy my new Crocs. :thumbsup2

Not sure if it is because of the sale or not, but some of the models were limited in size and color availability. I was going to get a pair of the Athens, but they didn't have 10s in any color I liked. Apparently big feet are all the rage these days. :rotfl: Or...they make limited quantities in huge.

But, I did find two pairs I liked. First pair is one of the models I showed you guys earlier, I just went with a different color.

The second pair is from Crocs Prepair line, which is supposed to help muscles recover from physical activity and remove pressure points. I thought that sounded good for looong days in the park when we're hustling around. :thumbsup2

Here they are:

I'm very excited...both pairs came to only 55 bucks with free shipping. Normally, it would be around 75!

In other exciting news, we received our luggage tags and vouchers the other day. Makes the trip feel super close! Actually we leave 4 weeks from tomorrow! :woohoo:

Not that this means anything for our trip 4 weeks away, but I looked at the Orlando weather today. Next week it's going to be in the mid-80s all week. Man, I hope it's like that when we go. What a stroke of weather luck that would be!

Thanks for stopping by! How exciting we'll be at WL at the same time! We loved the feel of the Wilderness Lodge when we checked it out on our last trip. I can't wait!

Oh, I like those silver/black pair. Must. resist. the. urge. to. buy. more. Crocs.

I can't believe your trip is so close!!!

30 days... :woohoo:

I love the crocs, they look gorgeous. Don't worry.. I look at the weather 24/7 prior to our trip... I"m sure you'll get that stroke of weather luck.. here's a little pixiedust: to get you started!!

Well, I have been a bad little pre-trip reporter, haven't I?

Um...I'm saving up all the good stuff for the actual trip report? Will that excuse fly?! :rotfl:

Not much has changed in our pre-trip planning. In mid-July we confirmed our wedding date for next March, so we been a little focused on doing some planning for that.

BUT...we're one week from departure date!!!
Yippppeeeee! :cool1::cool1::woohoo::woohoo::yay::yay::dance3: :dance3:

Even the usually mellow DF, who has laughed at me for months when I get all excited and start talking Disney at dinner, is getting excited. When he kissed me goodbye on this way to work this morning, he looked me with a big grin and said, "ONE WEEK!!!" We must be close if even DF is giddy!

The to-do list this week is long, which isn't helped by two events at work that will require long days on Monday and Tuesday (and possibly even some office time tomorrow, Sunday :headache:)

The big thing besides the obvious chores of laundry and packing is a trip to Costco. I normally refuse to hit Costco on a weekend...the lines are way too long! But, I may have to break down and go tomorrow. We plan to get a couple cases of water, granola bars, and almonds to snack on for breakfast in the room and during our long drive to and from Disney. I think I'm also going to get a large flat of eggs to hardboil and take with us in the cooler. DF has been tasked with making a huge fruit salad to also take down for breakfasts in the room. We're going to be consuming a lot of great (but not so healthy) food during our little Disney trip, so starting the day with some granola bars, fruit salad and hardboiled eggs will make the calorie consumption a little easier. Plus, it will be cheaper than hitting the QS at the hotel. I have told DF that one morning we WILL be hitting the Poly for some Tonga Toast! Lynn, you've created a monster! Must.Try. ;)

I also plan to pre-order the Photopass CD this week. We're not getting formal engagement photos done, so I hope to use some Photopass pictures in our wedding stuff, like the newsletter, web site, etc. Plus, I do like to scrapbook our trips and I'm really tired of the same shot: me on the left, DF on the right holding the camera with his left arm. The background may change, but we never do!! :sad2:

Another mildly, cost-saving development took place last week. In the past we've usually rented cars to drive down to Disney. A cute little Ford Focus has always done the trip. It holds all of our stuff and it's great on gas mileage. See, DF has a large gas-guzzling truck that gets about 8 mpg and I drive a lease car with only so many miles per year. It costs about 200 to rent a car for the week, plus about $150 in gas. It's cheaper than 2 airline tickets and we have the convenience of a car in Disney. Well, my dad (who also drives a lease car) was supposed to turn in his lease car last week and get a new one. But, they didn't have what he wanted in stock, so he had to order a new car. It won't be in for about 6 weeks, so he gets to keep his old lease car. My dad is retired so his 2-year-old lease car with the low mileage lease (that would allow him 20,000 miles total) has about 9,000 miles on it. He said we should save the money we'd spend on a rental car and take his since he doesn't have to worry about going over in miles! So excited!!! Gas will be a little pricier since he has an Explorer, but we won't be shelling out the $230 for an 8-day rental car! And my dad is spoiled, so his car has all the nice features. (That's the worst part about renting...my car is fully loaded, but I have to pay to rent a car that usually doesn't have any of the amenities my car has. :snooty: lol)

The other thing on my to-do list this week is get a tan. :rotfl: Not a tanning booth...can't do it. I mean, I could...I just won't. My mom had melanoma when I was 3 and I don't need to tempt fate. Not that laying out in the sun is much better...but tanning booths are the worst. I'm Greek, so I don't reallly burn if I have a little base and I tan pretty easily. But, I haven't been outside at all this summer. :( My legs are a ghostly white that could only be described as Greek FAIL! :sad2: We're going to be outside all day, it's going to be incredibly hot and I'm going to be sweaty. I don't want to worry about reapplying sunblock every hour because I've sweat or wiped it off. So, I need a little base! It's supposed be 95 and sunny tomorrow. I'm definitely going to try to head to the pool for a little time on my delightful floating bed. :cool2:

Okay....that's it for now. I'll try to recap our itinerary briefly and lay out our travel plans. Perhaps, show some of the packing progress and what I'm going to take (it will definitely include some Vera, for you fans out there!)

I really wanted to try the Tonga Toast on our last trip.. but we never made it our reservation. It looks like you have 3 days left.. how exciting!!!!:woohoo:

I complete agree with getting some sun prior to your departure.. i was sooo white too!!

Hey Em!!!! Can't wait to hear about your trip!! hint hint:rotfl:

Hey Em!!!! Can't wait to hear about your trip!! hint hint:rotfl:

haha, me either, especially since we were there at the same time!

haha I know...have to get the ball rolling on this TR! One word to sum it up...HOT! lol

Got all of my pictures uploaded last night and ordered my Photopass CD, too. Should hopefully get started tonight. :) Going to start a new thread for the report, but I'll post the link here. :goodvibes
