Free Dining Watch 2009 - Dates Released!! Update post 1

I have a quick question, and sorry if it's been asked before:

We have reserved the Deluxe Dining. If/when Free Dining becomes available will we receive the amount back that the Basic Dining would cost, and then just pay the difference for the deluxe?

Yes....you have to phone and as long as free dining rooms are available at the resort you have booked you will just have to pay the difference between the two packages which is $32 per night per adults and $10-11 p/n for a child. They will adjust your package price accordingly.

We already did this for our upcoming trip in August. Our bouceback was for free dining and I upgraded to the DxDDP and just paid the difference!

Just wanna say that there is a discussion about this on the codes and rates forum. Many of us have been calling to check to see if a FD pin has been associated with our name or not. Some people on the board have gotten lucky and got an FD pin. The pin expires this Friday. 2/28

CMS have reportedly been giving hints...hints about how FD is coming out VERY SOON- like hinting at March 1st instead of sometime in April. Be on the lookout this weekend everyone. It's been more than 1 CM that has dropped hints about this too- so it sounds promising.

Just as an FYI- airtran right now has amazing rates for airfare for the fall. So I'm hoping to book FD and airtrain air on the 1st or 2nd. Check it out for amazing rates!

I just called my AAA TA and asked if she was working this weekend and to be on the lookout, she said she'd be in Monday & would call first thing. Then she emailed me back and said she called Disney and they didn't know anything about it......getting frustrated here. Just wishing and hoping.....

Last August when I booked FD it was a minimum of three nights with a max of fourteen.

Just so you all know, you guys just had me in a tizzy, checking AirTran, the Disney homepage, my schedule for school, running downstairs to apologize to my sister that I might miss her birthday, etc.

....it's worth it for Disney and free dining though!

Okay, talk of FD being released this weekend has me in a panic. I'm definitely looking at a Labor Day trip, but haven't figured out exactly which 5 nights I think we'll do. Is is possible to book a longer trip than you actually plan to have, add FD when it becomes available, and then drop days when you get closer? Or, do I have to go ahead and decide exactly what our days may be so we can nail them down if/when FD is released?

In the past the fliers have priced a 5 night / 6 day trip, but, the fine print at the bottom has said "minimum 3 night stay."
