I just got the word on the new FREE dining for 2011!!!:cool1: It is possible to upgrade to a Deluxe dining for an additional charge or do you just have to pick from the 2 they offer you? Hope someone can help answer my question.:goodvibes

You just pay the difference between what is offered (which depends on your resort) and the price of Deluxe dining.

I will be paying $154 difference for 7 n/8d upgrade at POP.

Not sure what you mean by it depending on my resort. We will be staying at Animal Kingdom. So we would just pay the difference between regular to deluxe right? I just want to make sure I understand. My TA is on vacation this week:snooty:....the nerve of her going to Disney when I need her!!!!:lmao:

Value resorts get QSDP while moderates and Deluxes get the regular plan.

yes, we're staying at a value so we upgraded from QS to TS. It came to $224 for 8 nts., 2 adults, 2 kids

SO I have another question....whats the price difference between the the regular plan and the deluxe plan. It might actually be better if I take the $500 gift card offer since the end of my stay falls on a blackout date.

Our trip is 2/12/2011-2/20/2011. 8 nights
The black out days are after 2/16/2011.

If staying at a deluxe for a min of 4 nights I can get the $500 gc and looks like a better deal.

I believe your whole stay might qualify for free dining since the first day of your trip is before the blackout and the trip is less than 14 days so you might want to check that out. The difference between DDP and DxDP is around 35 per person per night I believe.

You may be right. I will have to check on that when my TA gets back in town next week.

I just made our ADRs this morning before the announcement. I was so excited to get this news. If I change my reservation, do I still get to keep my ADRs? Are they associated witht the confirmation # I already have?

The difference between DDP and DxDP for 2011 is $33/night during non-peak and $31/night peak for adults. ($9/$8 for children)

The PP is correct. If you read the WDW closely, it says that it is for ARRIVALS within whatever the dates are. As long as your first night is within the valid dates, you are fine. I know this because I arrive during valid dates but stay into an invalid period and I have free dining for the entire stay.

Thanks so much for the clarification. I am probably better with the free dining in this case. I'm just happy for a discount, whichever I get.:goodvibes

I love that they allow you to upgrade! We're staying at a value, but we were able to upgrade to the DDP, it came out to 11$ extra/per day (for adults, I'm the "kid" in the party, and just a litte over Disney's child definition, even for hotel ;))

Yup, your Dining Reservations will be fine. They are not associated with the Resort Reservation in that manner. (The resort reservation is only to determine if a) you qualify for 180+10 and b) Pre-Pay locations will charge ahead of time or use a CC hold (if a dining plan is attached to that Resort Reservation)).

OP, just thought I would let you know that yesterday people were reporting that the "deals" they were wanting were already gone.

Not to say this to panic you, but I did read your TA is gone all week.

Now I have no idea what "deals" these people were trying for, or for what dates (that probably had a lot to do with it), but I thought I would let you know.

Forwarned is forarmed.

Good luck, I hope you get your best discount!! :)
