The FD pin DMil recieved is no good for us, since we are going in November already booked with a room rate % off. I was thinking if they come out with a 4/3 or similar deal I might see about extending our time. Wish I could afford to "borrow" her FD pin and book another trip for summer hmmmmm

I got the Remy mailing today and I called just two days ago to see if a pin was attached to my name/reservation (since I already have one). CM said I had none attached to my name -- granted they spelled my last name totally wrong. Not sure where they even got the info as I'm registered with the proper spelling on the site and even have a ressie. This is the first PIN I ever remember getting and I went for FD in 2006 and 2007 and for the marathon in 2007 and 2008. I'm still thinking that free dining or its equivalent will be released simply for all the reasons stated and they have continued to extend promos to drive business...especially with them having offers in the summer when they should be able to charge rack without a doubt.

If it makes you feel any better, in spite of having my husband's correct name "Wesley" on the site and having made prior ressies with him on the guest list, Disney spells his name Welsey. And shortly after I booked my ressie in February, they sent me something in the mail saying that they were happy to see me returning. It was addressed to Natalie (with my last name). My name is Mary and the ressie is under my name.

I have not posted until now because I have been secretly hiding the insanity I have been going through the past few days....well except to my husband who has asked repeatedly if he should just wheel me to the bathroom, bedroom, and kitchen in this chair since my buttocks has been glued to it for 4 days now

Seriously, I am like a little kid in a toy store stomping their feet screaming, "but I want it now!".

I have woke up around 5am for the past few days, rolled over in bed, grabbed my Iphone on the night stand, and checked the All Mighty Disboards(mind you, that is even without leaving the bed) in hopes that free dining has come out. And every day I am growing in disappointment and insanity.

We were gonna go the end of June, but of course me being the smarty I am said, "oh no, it would be so much cheaper to go in August during FREE DINING!" So I have now passed up all the June deals because my, once again, smart self was just waiting for FD. Now I am sitting here twiddling my thumbs, sitting in a chair all day with a sore behind, waiting and waiting and waiting. Work and school are very lucky I am off this week, lemme tell ya! It's a shame I cannot be off for...oh, say, 4 more weeks

So my rant is now over, and I will continue to wait impatiently for whatever deal Disney will put out after August 15. So let me sit here with my , trying my best not to do a lot of this , and especially a lot of this , and continue to do a bunch of this . Sorry I just love smilies.

Wish everyone a lot of on having free dining or some deal come out soon. And CanadianGuy...keep up the awesome work!! You are the best!

That is exactly what I have been doing!! I haven't gotten up as early as 5, sleep is precious to me lately (I have a 13 month old and another due at the end of this month)...but it's definitely the first thing I check in the morning without ever even getting up.

I know I am getting very repetative, but why oh why is everyone and their brother getting the free dining pin but me? Really I entirely know that it is very random and my chances of getting it are about zero, but it seems like one person after another after another has gotten it. It is so depressing when I could use it. At least I think I could, being we are arriving Aug 13TH. Usually they are good for the length of stay as long as you are checked in by the end date. Free QSDp is much better than the deal I have now and if by some chance regular DDP would become available for free I could always switch, but alas I have no pin.

Okay my pity party is over.

Tragically.. I hate hate hate (no, I really despise) the idea of waiting another 30 days to find out what the fall promo is..

Also tragically.. I am beginning to think that is what is in front of us.

I have never hoped and wanted to be wrong so much in my life!!!

I think that is more than likely too. We leave for our vacation on Sunday. I called my TA to make sure she had my credit card number on file and ask her to make a reservation for me if Free Dining (or some other fabulous fall offer) is released while we are gone. She asked me to fax her the info but that she didn't think she would need it because she wasn't expecting Fall offers anytime soon. She was going in to an appointment and said she would email me tonight to elaborate. I asked when and if she expected something for September. She said she expected something next week, but not for fall. Her other comment was that Fall discounts were a WHEN, not an IF but that it would be "closer to the end of the school year." For the record, the end of the school year for her kids is the same as mine...May 21st.

I am now anxiously waiting for the elaboration email!

I promise you...my brothers did not get the FD pin.

Neither me, nor my hubby, nor my father or my mother got the pin (and they've been to Disney 5 times in the past 6 years)....



Then again, the current pin wouldn't work for our mother/daughter trip- we're October 1-4... going with or without FD, but oh, would it be nice...

I think that if they want to wean people off free dining, there's a few steps that need to be taken (and should have been taken)...

-I don't think any type of free dining should have been offered this summer (even as simple as QSDP). It seems to have raised a lot of hopes for FD this fall.

-any bouncebacks should have nothing to do with FD. Obviously they can't retract the bounceback offers that were given to people last year who are redeeming it this year...but if this is a promo they want to stop, then no more FD bouncebacks.

-no offense to the UK DISers, but I have the same thoughts about offering FD dining for you guys too. It shouldn't be done. It's like dangling a carrot in front of people.

Of course I all want us to have FD. But these are just my thoughts on it if this is a promo they intend on discontinuing. Cold turkey is the way to go.

I totally agree with your post on every level – if they are going to offer free dining during one of their busiest periods, why wouldn’t they be offering it during the slowest periods where they could benefit from increased guests. If they truly want to get rid of FD, then don’t offer it on a bounce back – find another promotion to offer instead. Lastly, if they are going to get rid of it – just come out and make a statement that they are no longer going to offer it and let people make their own decisions about keeping/making reservations.

I must admit I am glad we went ahead last December for free dining and I am not having to really worry as to whether or not if and when it will come out. But Disney is going to have to have some type of discount during the month of September as I think that has got to be thier absolute slowest month of the whole year, every year. I remember booking my first trip which was free dining during the month of June.

we did not get or have ever gotten a pin and we have the DV and also have been to disney at least 15 times the last 3 with the FD. I called and spoke to a CM today and asked why I have NEVER received a pin especially being such loyal disers all she could say was...... of course the pins are random!!!! So I just wait with the rest of you checking my computer a million times a day, I think I have disboard OCD now! Trying to stay positive and calm
