Free Dining Ticket Question

I went ahead and booked the deal this morning so if we decide to go with it, I have it done. Because there are 5 of us and we are going for 14 days, it seems like the numbers should be at least even with an offsite stay and paying out of pocket for food. This way, we will get more sit down meals and it will all be paid for before we get there.

Here is my dilemma: We get into the parks for free because of friends that work there. Can we have our tickets removed from our KTTK in order to use them at a later date if we need to? I am sure I have read numerous times that we could, but I was wondering if free dining would be handled any different. Our food credits would remain on the KTTK, correct?

Yes you can get your tickets separately and keep your dining credits on your KTTW card. You can then use your tickets at a later date. Just make sure not to use them as they will expire 14 days from first use unless you upgrade to no expiration.

Raven is correct. You can keep them (or just keep your KTTW card) for later and they will be worth the new value- so a 5 day will be worth the price of a 5 day whenever you choose to use the ticket. Just be sure not to use any days on it because then it will fall under the 14 day expiration.

It's no different with Free Dining- Disney just wants to make you spend the money on the tickets before they'll give you the dining ;-) The only thing you can't do is get refunded for the tickets. Also, you can change your tickets to the minimum required for free dining (2 day base ticket, I believe) if you want to save money for now.

DH and DS have APs, so we'll be saving their tickets for our next trip. I've done this on previous trips also.

I'm an AP holder and have booked (twice now) free dinning packages. I know I can use my 2day base tickets against a renewal pass later. But. Can I sell the unused ticket to someone else? Or. What else can I do wiht all these tickets I`m accumulating.

Unused tickets can be sold or given away to someone else. You would obviously have to have separate tickets though, not on your KTTW card. And you really need to be careful - a DISer recently had a problem when selling unused tickets on eBay - she almost got scammed out of all the money for the tickets and had to fight with eBay & Paypal to keep the money. You are much better off just keeping them for yourself or selling them or giving them to a relative or close friend.

hmmm...since this is my first trip doing the whole package- I am wondering how we get our tix seperately? Maybe if I pick them up the day before we checkin for pckg?

Ask at your resort if they will remove your tickets from your KTTW card and give them to you as separate ticket media.

I never knew you could separate your tickets and hold them for future use. This would be very handy for me as I have an annual pass but booked the free dining with 2/day tickets. Not knowing how my finances will work next year, it will come in handy to apply to my next annual pass.

So good to know. Wish I had known this sooner.

Side note though, I did not think you could ever resell your tickets if it has your name on it. Are there no 'Disney' rules on this?
