Free Dining - Sold Out: Resorts, Dates??

Is sports really that bad? Isn't it pretty much like the other All stars? I know music was referb. Can you look past it with free dining?

Sports isn't bad at all! I just personally prefer Pop, because its newer and has its own transportation. I've stayed at all the All Stars, and Sports is my personal favorite.

My wife and I stayed at All star sports last year. It was fine. I booked 6 nights this year starting 9-22. I always leave $4 ($5 or more if I ask for something; more towels, etc.) for the maid service each day. I find this makes my room better.

I can only get AsSports at the moment, but I'll think I'llkeep trying for POP, as thats the one I really want to stay at! My dates are 14 Sept - 24 Sept.

There isn't anything wrong with Sports. I'd rather stay at Pop Century then any of the All Star Resort.

I don't like the bus sharing. When we stayed at Sports, the bus picked us up first, then head to Music and Movies.

My son and I prefer PC's food court. PC is newer, it has more pools. I think PC is more up beat than Sports. I love standing at the bus stop and singing whatever song happens to be playing at the time.

If I have to decide between staying at home and staying at Sports, I'd pick Sports or one of the others.

If I'm not mistaken the All Stars no longer share buses, at least I recall separate buses. I noticed that on the walk to the PC bus I can't remember which park, but the PC bus was the very last one, and I believe the Sports bus was right next to it.

We stayed at Sports in 2005, I'd have rather stayed there last year, because the wait for the bus at PC was HORRIBLE. It did not matter where we were going, or the time, we had to wait for sometimes the 2nd or 3rd bus going and coming.

When we were there in Febuary the only park that was sharing buses was at Ak and Sports still had it's own bus.. Personally Sports was too loud for me, but I loved Music and we are staying at Movies in August...

Call or go online OFTEN!! Yesterday there were NO value or moderates left for August 26 thu Sept 1. I woke up this morning, went online and All Star Sports had opened up so I snagged it. My friend tried an hour later and could only get into the Pop but for one night less (The Pop was "sold out" when I tried an hour earlier).

Thousands of people have courtesy holds in place right now that will expire if the deposits are not made. My courtesy hold thru DU is until April 25 and will go back in the pot if I don't place a deposit.

Keep trying and have a TA watching and trying for you too! Because we are at different resorts, we will keep checking everyday until we can both secure ressies at the same resort.

Just an FYI--the public now knows. I just got my Sunday paper and in the travel section, page TWO, the free DDP advertisment is there. This is Washington Post. So anyone who doesn't have a computer scared: ) and gets their local paper, the word if officially out! If you haven't booked or are trying to change, you better get moving.

Do check back. On Friday I cancelled a week at POFQ 9/15-9/22 b/c I was able to upgrade to the Poly for that week. So I assume that week for POFQ opened back up. I imagine others are doing the same re: changing hotels when available.

AKL was booked solid when I tried on Thursday....checked online this morning (need to use the free dining links to check resort availability) and it showed standard rooms available at AKL. Called them up, now we have two rooms there for Aug. 29-Sept. 3rd!

I called this morning and was able to add September 1 onto my second reservation.(Pop Century) Now, I'm just waiting for August 31 to open up so that I can combine the two reservations.

Once I get what I really want, I'll cancel the All Star Sports reservations.

This is going to be my strategy until the offer is over! Check online and if I see an opening call right away. We got our 2nd choice so I will be OK with it, BUT if I can get our 1st choice, even better!!

I really wanted Poly this morning but after getting up and on the phone at 6:45am and waiting 50 minutes, I couldn't get it. No rooms left. Nothing at Contemporary either. I did get into the Beach club. so we are going w/ free dining but am wondering about also calling back and seeing if anything comes up and how often/when to do this? Is there a wait list someplace?

Some people who got those room might not pay their deposit and the room goes back into inventory, so I would say to call two weeks from when the promotion started and check. Good luck.

When I called this morning, I could have booked POFQ and POR for August 26-September 4. Since the mods will cost $630.00 more than the values for my dates, I didn't book.

I don't think that they limited the rooms. I thinik that the UK and the bouncback program took alot....

It seems that it was a bit of both. The earlier programs filled a lot of rooms, surely, but Disney also indicated that they were going to limit the availability a bit this year, presumably to avoid some of the restaurant capacity problems they encountered last year.

Thanks for the heads up on Washington post. DB and I was discussion contempory for 3 days but decided to change it to 5 days at CS but it looks like the only moderate left is CB. I booked it anyways hoping maybe something else will turn up. I looked though all the pages but I don't see a place where I can cancel. Would I need to rebook when CS opens then call to cancel or is there a way I can just change my reservation?
