Sorry this is a little late, but I have been working and on call every day since we returned from WDW. This was a mom and me trip, no kids or husbands. We had free dining from Sep 22- Sep 26.
Sep 22- arrived at WDW about 3 pm. Had a PS for Chefs De France for 7:30. We arrived at abot 7:15, and there were ALOT of people waiting to get in. But we were at our table by our 7:30 PS time. The service here was great, the waiter was very nice and attentive. The atmoshere was very nice. I had the cheese plate and my mom had the flatbread for our appy. Both were good. I had braised chicken and mashed potatoes (excellent!, I loved the potatoes). Mom had the Sole, which she said was great. desserts were chocolate mousse and puff pastry. Both were tasty. We left completly full and satisfied. total would have been $83.00 before tips
Sep 23- had our CS at Cosmic Rays. They had a live band playing and it was nice to eat and listen to the music. We both had the chicken/rib combo plate and chocolate cake for dessert. Very good and VERY filling. Total cost-$39.00
TS- Alfredos- This was our favorite meal of the trip! The alfredo noodles were to die for!!! We both had them for an appy. DM had grilled swordfish with roasted potatoes and said it was the best she had EVER had, and she likes seafood! I had the lasagna, and it was excellent, but I did not eat all of it so that I could have dessert and not leave feeling stuffed to the point of being ill. The portions are HUGE. If we were paying OOP, we would definatley share a meal. DM had strawberry mousse, I had the chocolate mousse... both were very good (we tasted each others). The seating here is very close, but we just talked to our neighbors and enjoyed the atmosphere. It is a very pretty place. The service was very good.total-$81.50
Sep 24- CS at Flametree BBQ. Very good and again, very filling. We both had the chicken plate. I had frozen lemonade for dessert (my DD adores these, and now I know why!), and DM had key lime pie.total $28.00
TS-1900 Park Faire Buffet. This place was so-so. Alot of the food was barely warm, and by the time we ate it, it was cold. The selection was not as great as I had thought it would be. We left here not as full as at all our other meals, and it was all-you-can-eat! The characters didn't even come to our table, except Prince Charming, who was very nice and asked how our trip was going, and did we want a picture. He was, well, charming. I would not go back here. It is not awful, but not worth a 2nd trip, especially if you are paying OOP. Total cost-$60.00
Sep 25- CS at Columbia Harbour House. We had planned on eating at the Cantina De San Angel in Epcot, but we ended up at MK, so we just ate here. I like this place well enough to go back. The fish was pretty good, for fast food fish. We both had the fish/chicken combo... I was not impressed with the chicken strips..too much breading and not enough meat. If I had not gotten the combo I would have left hungry, bit the fish was plentiful and filling. There is only apple pie here for the dessert, and I don't like apple pie, but DM said it was pretty good. Total cost-28.00
TS- Le Cellier- this was the only place that we went to eat that I had already been to. And it did not fail me. I had the NY strip with roasted potatoes and the cheese soup. The cheese soup was too oniony this time, and I only had a few bites. But the steak and potatoes were excellent. DM had a salad for her appy, and got the surf and turf. She really liked it. We both had the rasberry sorbet for dessert. It was SO good.... I over stuffed myself eating it, but it was too good to not eat all of it!! The service here was good, even though they were busy. This is the only time we had to wait for a table our whole trip, and we waited about 35 minutes. And yes, we had a PS. total cost-$79.00
Sep 26- We were catching the ME bus at noon, so we hung out at the reort, and ate our last CS at Sassougula food works. I had pancakes and bacon, DM had a b-fast crossoint, and we both had cinnamon rolls for our "dessert". The food here was ok, but I am not a b-fast food eater, so I was not really impressed. But it was hot and fresh. Total cost-$22.00
Snacks..... We were never hungry between meals, so on our last morning I got 8 Mickey rice krispy treats to take home to the kids. They liked them. Total cost-$23.00
We loved the dining plan, and used it without any problems. We have decided that even if it weren't free, it would be WELL worth the money to get the plan when we come again with husbands and kids!!!
Our total that we WOULD have spent on food this trip was $445.00!!!! If we had payed for the plan it would have cost us $280.00, so it makes sense to get tha plan!!!
