Free dining question

I know I have read the answer to this question before but I did a search and can't find it.
I am planning a trip for a friend who is going to WDW in April. She will be there for 2 days while free dining is being offered and will stay 3 more days.
If she signs up for the free dining will they continue it for her entire trip or does it stop and she has to pay for the meals for the last 3 days.
I will be meeting her the last 3 days but I will be staying at my DVC. If she can't get the free dining I might book a larger room for her to stay with mebut she would rather have the free dining than a free room, go figure.

I don't know of any free dining being offered in April. Is your friend sure there is a free dining deal available? If there is one available, the general rule is, as long as you check in by the last date free dining is offered, then you can have it for up to a 14 day stay. Once again, however, I am unaware of any free dining in April of this year. The only free dining offered for 2014 so far was through a PIN code that ends on March 5th.

I got a free dining PIN but it ends on March 5, 2014. I don't know of any public free dining codes that are out there right now.

But in the past, package deals have always been for "stays beginning by MM/DD/YY", meaning that as long as you were checked in by that last day the offer was good for your entire stay. This does not apply to room-only discounts which are applied on a night-by-night basis. Have your friend check the fine print on her offer. The answer to your question should be there.

I never did free dining. Other than looking here how do I find codes? The plan is to set up our trip for the week prior to Thanksgiving. I saw that 2013 had free dining dates from the 11th until the 22nd. At least that is what I read.

Any help would be much appreciated!!

Following the Codes and Rates subforum of the Resorts board is the very best way to get a heads up on upcoming discounts. If you don't feel like doing that, then checking disneyworld.disney.go.com under the Special Offers section will be your best source but by then, the word will already be out on all of the Disney fan websites.
