Free Dining question

I am hoping for a GP offer for free dining for October. I have already purchased our airline tickets through airtran to arrive in the world on 10/3. If a GP offer becomes available and follows the same dates as the current pin code, we would miss FD by one day. If I change our airline tickets, I really don't think it would be worth it because of the fees airtran charges....$75 per ticket, and I only paid $75 for the flight down. I was thinking about just changing my DHs ticket and send him down on the 10/2, and then I could bring the kids on 10/3. That way we could get FD. Would that be possible or wrong in anyway? Thanks

No, As long as he checks in on the date you will get free dining

Thanks for the repsonses I figure $75 to change just DHs ticket would be worth it to get free dining. He is worried about me getting the kids down there on the plane by myself, but he has no idea what I am capable of for free dining

If the fare for the new flight is higher, don't forget to figure that into your decision.

I wouldn't have him mention that you are not all there, just in case. It isn't as though every party in the room needs to be at checkin, so how would they know you weren't in the restroom or at the food court?

I had a friend who did this last fall. She even told the phone CM and booked herself on the Magical Express for one day and the rest of her family the next day.

Didn't think of DME. Guess if you are using that you would have to tell them.

If we end up doing this, I may let DH use DME and then I could get the rental car the next day when I get down there. I have to do all the driving, due to severe motion sickness. Hey, maybe I should send my youngest with DH, since the older they get the more helpful they become . Now, if they would just offer free dining or a good room discount for my dates, this will be a non issue

Why not just do a room only the first and start your pkg the next day. I'm going on November 10th and free dining does not start till the 11th so I'm doing a room only at a value resort and starting my pkg on 11/11 at POR.

Alice's reservation is the opposite though. The free dining ends the day before they arrive, so someone needs to checkin that day before in order for them to get the discount.

There is a PIN code for FD for select dates in Aug-Dec. there won't be any public offers until mid-summer, likely July.

I'm going based on the pin code that is out now. The week I'm going, free dining starts on the 11/11 but I'm arriving on the 10th so I'm probably going to do a room only the first day and start my pkg on the 11th.so I can get the free dining for the rest of my vacation. I did not get a pin so I'm waiting for the visa/General public offer to come out hopefully in July/ August

Ok thanks - I thought that I had missed the boat - I am waiting/hoping for FD in November - but have package already - will have to convert if one comes out.
