Free Dining Question

Hi all - I just received a PIN for free dining for specific dates at WDW.

The dates either end before or after I want to go - example free dining ends on 10/2, but I want to stay through 10/6, etc. Or free dining starts 11/11 and I want to start my trip on 11/9, etc.

I think I read somewhere on here that if you stay two days before the end of free dining, it extends through the rest of your stay (or something like that) - is that true?

Sorry - I am fairly new to all this and just trying to figure out if I can get my dates to work!

If you check in on a date that free dining is offered, you get free dining for your whole stay up to 14 days as long as you purchase a package with a minimum number of park days. If you are arriving prior to free dining, some people do a room only reservation for a night or two and then a separate reservation for the start of free dining. Hope this helps. Enjoy.

I have a related question! I want to check in on the last day free dining is offered (the 25th) and stay till the 4th. My travel partner can only stay till the 2nd. If we're in the same room but he checks out the 2nd, what happens to his dining credits? do they go all the way till the 4th, or once he checks out, they dont exist any more?

You will end up with his extra credits and you can use them. If you are on the regular DDP or the DxDDP you (or both of you) could do some 2 credit TS meals to use up his credits.

No you need to check in between the 11-23 to start free dining. Pin for fd in oct is 18-31. I check in oct 17 for room only then I Check in on the 18th with my fd pin package.

Unfortunately, no. Your check in date has to be included in the free dining dates so in this case you would have to check in between Nov 11 and Nov 23 to qualify.

I'm soooo jealous of the free dining pin! I am set to arrive the 18th and stay with a friend at the DVC then I check in to a package the 22nd-27th... we have two rooms booked for my brother's 40th bday.. Mom is paying for the whole trip.. I would have loved to get a code and save her some money! Called and no pin on mine or my brother's account.. any one have any guesses if they will open this to the general public?

The October - December free dining dates are released annually around July, sometimes August.

thanks, I know they come out every year.. but this year with the pins I was afraid it was the only way they were going to offer FD... there was a lot of talk about it getting pulled due to all the money being spent on NFL. Fingers crossed they come out. I would LOVE to tell my mom she's saving a chunk of change on this trip!

They have sent out FD pin codes for this timeframe since 2008 and since 2009, all of the FD pin codes have ended up being available to the public. I haven't seen anything that would lead me to believe that they won't have GP FD dates in October - December.
