If I were to check in on the last day that free dining was offered and stayed for 10 days after, would free dining apply for the rest of the trip? OR do you have to travel within the free dining dates?

When it has been offered in the past Free Dining has been based on Check In date. Meaning as long as you check in within the time you are good!

As long as it is offered at check in, it is good for the entire length of stay. I've done check in on the last day the past two trips and DISNEY gave me free dining for the duration.

If you check in by the last day of a free dining promo, you can have it applied to your entire stay, up to 14 nights.
