Free dining question. Thanks!

I have never been to WDW with a free dining discount, so forgive me if this has been asked/answered a bunch.

Say the free dining promotion ends on the 31st of month and we weren't checking in until the 1st of next month. If we went the evening before (31st) and checked into the hotel, would we have free dining the whole trip? Or would it be for just one day?

Trying to decide if it would be a benefit to go an extra evening to get free dining.

If it ends on the 31st and you check in on the 31st you will have it for your whole trip We did that last year!

ETA: change my mistake of putting if it starts to if it ends. Sorry - it's Monday!!!!

I found out once i arrived back from our trip during free dining, that as long as you check in and stay the last night of the promotion you will receive the promotion for the whole duration of your stay as long as the stay is more then 2 nights and no longer then 14 nights. (I believe the nights is right, but i might be mistaken.....) But as long as its the last night of the promo, you will get it the whole stay.

Thanks everyone! We would be staying 10 nights total then, so I think the extra night would probably be worth the free dining.
Of course it's all subject to dates and availability! Just nice to know the option is there.
