Hello

I have a friend that is looking to go to Disney at the end of Nov into Dec. the issue is that Free dining is available for the first few days of his stay and not the last few. He could not get a straight answer from the Cast Member he worked with. He asked if he got free dining the entire trip since he was booking and free dining was available at the beginning. They first said let me check and came back and said she thought they would but she wasn't positive.
He is just curious because it would make a difference in how they booked the trip.

thanks for any help

I don't know the official answer, however, I priced a similar stay for October on the Disney site and received free dining for the entire stay.

As long as you check in within the Free Dining period, you will get free dining for the entire stay (up to 14 nights, I believe).

Although they now price accommodations separately for each night of your stay, (used to be you paid the nightly rate equal to the rate on the day you checked in) I believe for Free Dining, if it's available for your check-in date, you get it for free for the entire stay.

I expect they'll find a way to change this in the future, as some people are trying to abuse the offer by booking a reservation on the last day it is offered, with no intentions of showing up until a day later.

I had a similar question and directed it to my travel agent. I am going the fisrt week of F&W and there are black out dates in that week. We are there for at least 2 days before the black out dates start and we are receiving the dining plan for the full time we are there.

I don't understand how they could "show up a day later". Can you please explain this?:confused3
They would have to have paid for the entire vacation package 45 days before arrival anyway. They would be out the money for the first night either way. The question is, would they just be no-show that first night? If so, wouldn't their reservation then auto cancel. If they didn't call to cancel, they would get NO refund.

There was a whole tread on one of the other boards where a Mom, Dad, Kids and grandparents were all going. Grandma & Grandpa are arriving on one day and the rest of the family were arriving on the next day. Well Free Dining blacks out the day the rest of the family is arriving so they booked for a day earlier so they could all get free dining and were asking if Grandma & Grandpa could check them in. Let's just say the thread went "Cake".

Sounds like a rehash of the Ft. Wilderness camp site thread, but over free dining blackouts... :)

Still wish we could get at least discounted DDP for our December (DVC) trip...:(
