Free Dining - Possible public code...

Good Morning!

OT---momandkidslovedisney I noticed you were from MN :) I'm in North St Paul...:thumbsup2

I was lucky enough to get the FD pin but now I'm hoping for a public offer for my cousin & her family!!!!

I am in the northern suburbs. We are finally getting some warmer weather! I am ready for this snow to melt. :thumbsup2

I hope FD is offered to the public. I think it will make a lot of people happy...
 
I called yesterday to check for any new PINS since we check in to POP in 11 days!!!! The CM was quite short (which i could tell right off the bat where this was going). I asked her about any possible PINS and she said " you would know if you got an email from us with a PIN." I said gee thanks and hung up.:headache:

This is ALWAYS the response and miserable CM that we get every time we call.:guilty: We never seem to get one willing to throw us FD or any other kind of discount, no matter how many times we say that we will book there and then if we get one. We really can only go unless we get FD and it seems like we're the only ones who didn't get that darn PIN!:headache:

Oh, and btw, congrats to the OP on your pixie dust.:wizard:
 
pixiedust:Op, so glad it worked out for you. I guess I've been fortunate b/c I've never gotten anything but wonderful CMs, all going that extra mile for me. My advice to anyone who calls and knows right away they've got a bad one, hang up and call back right away. You'll probably get a good one. Have a magical trip, Op!pixiedust:
 
Welcome, momtob&t!!! I am glad it worked out for you. I am planning on calling once before I have to make my ADRs (in a couple of weeks) and hope I don't get a grumpy CM. BUT....I can kinda understand where they are coming from....to a point. There's no point in being rude...it upsets the person on the other end of the line and it sure doesn't make your day any better (unless, of course, you're sadistic like that).

Anyway, welcome and congrats on the FD. Have fun in May!!!
 

Just called and also received a free QSDP! Thanks for the help!
 
We are staying at the CBR from May 4-May 10. The person on the phone was great and said the QSFD is available for guests staying at a value or moderate. Don't know what the date range is though. You can upgrade to the regular dining plan for $10/day/person.

Yes, there was a pin attached to my wife's email address. She didn't see it in any listed emails.

I just called and I had the free dining attached. Actually all three of our groups going had it attached. Yesterday when I called no one had it attached. I am celebrating!!!!!:banana::cool1::cheer2::rockband::dancer:party:
 
Wonder if I should call. Staying at POR 8/13/11-8/21/11 and called yesterday. No pin or discount.

That makes me wonder. You called and no one had a pin and then the next day everyone had one. It sounds like the CM you had the first day didn't really have a good look because what are the odds that all three of you got a pin that night?

I got some not so happy CM and some not so knowledgeable CMs during the day, I gave it a try one evening and got one that was willing to put an effort in and low and behold I got FD......:cool1: So maybe try an evening if you have the time...:thumbsup2

Thanks, I think DH is going to call tonight.:thumbsup2 We just got an email today but there wasn't any PIN on it. He can call on that pretense to ask if we have a PIN.;)
 
how do CMs check if there's something attached to your name? how do they have your name - if you're registered on the disney site?
 
I'm don't think anyone else has posted this-- if so sorry for the repeat-- but for all those who are having trouble with CMs looking up pins...

We know that they often refuse a request to "please see if there's any pins attached to my name," but a while back I read a great tip that has worked for me. If you say "I remember getting an e-mail (or postcard) with a special offer on it but I can't find now. Is there a way for you to see what that was?" then I think they are supposed to (and if they're not, they usually do anyway) check for pins for you and tell you what you have. Sometimes they probe for more information like "what kind of special offer"? and I just say "I don't remember, I didn't know I could plan a trip then so I didn't pay much attention. But now I can if it's a good discount"

Just trying to help out others, no need to get upset, nobody's forcing you to follow a tip on a board:upsidedow I'm only able to get to Disney with discounts, and there's a lot of other folks in the same boat. Disney can either get my money minus a little for a discount, or won't get it at all because I won't come. I'm guessing that faced with an empty room or someone who worked the system to and came with a discount, Disney will take my money any day.
 
I tried to call again to see if I could get any type of discount. It was a no go. I think I got the guy everyone else gets because he was very short. I just made sure he knew that since this vacation has NO discount what so ever that I may likely have to cancel. Hopefully not, but paying full price after 6 years of a little discount really does hit the pocket.

I am praying that something comes up soon so I can stop stressing.
 
I called today to make a change to our reservation and was told that I had a PIN for free dining (which wasn't there a week ago when I first made the reservations and I have watched my mail/email like a hawk) but you have to travel before Aug 13, and we aren't going til October....Good luck to all of you hopeing for free dining pins for this summer:thumbsup2
