Free Dining Plan, WOW!!!

I am debating this now - I already have tickets and a room booked at ASMo for $59 night

I think I will book with the one day ticket as I love the dining plan.

Question - does anyone know if the one day ticket, if not used, will expire? In other words, if I use the tickets I have for the parks, can I hold onto the one days for a future trip?

A one day ticket does not expire.

i believe the email said that the tickets must be used within 14 days of first use

What that means if you have a multiple ticket and do not purchase the no expiration option then all days expire 14 days after the first day you use the ticket. A one day ticket never expires until it has been used.

For those people who hold APs or have tickets left over from a previous visit, the free dining plan package is a great deal if you just buy a one day pass and save it to use later.

I called this morning and applied the code to my ressie. We had to switch our dates to August 14-22nd because the CM said only a limited number of rooms are available with this deal and it was not longer available at Poly for our original dates. Cosidering I called at 7:30am Florida time, I'd say they probably don't have them many free DP rooms available. Guess I need to change the dates in my signature. I am so excited. Now we all have to pray for good weather!!!! :sunny:

so by the time its open to the public will there be any free dp rooms left??

I just booked our one week trip at the All Stars.
I love that free dining.
I can hardly wait to make my ADR's

Isn't this WONDERFUL?? Considering now that I have 2 vacations upcoming I feel like dancin'
DH said last year, when we used the free dining, that if it came up again we would go, no questions asked. When I heard about this last night, I was on the phone while telling him about it.

I was able to book last night @ POP with the free dining & 1 day park pass under $900 for 4. I am so thrilled! We stayed @ POP last year for the 1st time and were pleasantly surprised. Since we only do deluxes or values (mods are just way overpriced for what they offer IMHO) we decided on POP. We got quoted CR standard wing for $2193.00 and decided to save the extra $1332.00 and get the best "bang for the free dining buck" and do a value.

We will also be going to attend the 1st MNSSHP which is AWESOME!! I could just burst! I've kept out hope since last year, now it's here! No hurricanes please :teeth: Gotta go add another ticker for my new trip! :cheer2:

Sounds like there is some advantage to having the Disney VISA card, after all -- limited rooms available with free dining means some resorts may be sold out for certain dates by the time the offer goes public.

I just read that some pepple had to book a 3-day pass. We were able to book our 3 rooms at Pop Century (8/13-8/20) with 1-day passes. The CM tried and tried to talk me into a longer pass but I finally told her that we have APs (at least my family does) and that I wanted all the rooms to be the same as possible for my own sanity. We'll be saving our passes and upgrading them to longer passes on our December trip.

Here are the numbers:
Pop Century - 7 Days, 1-Day Pass
2 Adults, 2 Children -- $861.92
3 Adults, 1 Child -- $873.64

Definitely, HayGan. It surely provides a lot more insight into the cost structure for the food and beverage operations.

I also think it suggests why disney hasn't changed the plan that much (other than to tweak a few of the restuarants), since it's inception. If you take into account the rack rates, and more importantly, forcing the customer to spend time and money at WDW rather than the competitors or off site restaurants, then perhaps that sheds light onto why disney hasn't seperated credits between adult and child. Even if some are spreading out their credits for some additional meals, disney still receives the daily fee for the kids, plus the extra out of pocket money for each meal for the kids. But more important, they are assuring that the party is spending additional time at Disney and not other places.

I think the question then becomes.. exactly how much money are people blowing on souveneirs! :lmao:

Ah! I cannot find this anywhere on the disney visa website? Can someone help me?? Also do you have to only stay the 5 nights or can you stay 6 nights? Help!

thanks
tricia.

It's on Mousesavers.com. I called and the CM knew nothing about it, she had to ask a manager. Thanks Disboards! :thumbsup2

Thanks for confirming that. We will be rebooking Monday (My Disney Visa hasnt arrived yet) for ASMo with one day tix and using the ones we already have purchased. Very happy indeed!

I am trying to figure out what to do... My wife and I got married on March 13th and part of the deal was that Disney gave us free annual passes. Since we can go to the Disney again without buying park passes, we booked a deal at the Dolphin from Sept 22-30 for $129 for a Lake View room. A pretty good deal I think.

However, with the free dining option now up again, I am debating if there is any benefit in us looking into it or would there be no financial benefit to getting the free dining option staying at say the Wilderness Lodge? I think it is not worth it for us, but was wondering for those of us that have annual passes, is there any way this deal could help save us money? Especially when I have a deal for $129 at the Dolphin?

Well ... depending on how much and where you plan to eat it may or may not be worth it. Your price at the Dolphin would be $1222 including parking and tax. WL is $205 for standard view for your dates and you need to buy at least a 1-day pass. Your total would be $1775, or $552 over 8 days. That's about $70 per day.

Well I just called and switched my dates for one month earlier so we could get the free dining plan. This is awesome! It is going to save us about $900 dollars over 8 nights for 3 people! We are now going Sept. 2-10. It will be hotter but worth it! Thanks for the info because I haven't recieved my Disney visa bill yet this month and it probably be sold out by time I get it.

I booked the plan today, 9 nights at the Poly with the plan is going to cost me $4596 for me and DH, & my 3 sons that are 13, 10 and 4. Is this a good deal ya think?

I didn't see it on the Disney Visa website either but when I called the CM said "yes we do have free dining available for Disney Visa cardholders". We booked for 4 nights/5 days so I'm not sure about 6 days. I'm soo excited :Pinkbounc  :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cool1: :cloud9:

BTW, I made my ADRs for Ohana Breakfast, Le Cellier dinner, 1900 Park Fare dinner and WCC lunch with my choice of basically any time I wanted from when meal started til finish, except for 6pm at Le Cellier :confused3 LOL must be a really popular time there.
Also another heads up on a deal the CM said will start Tuesday, if you use Airtran Airlines they will have a special deal thru WDW CRO from any Airtran destination to Orlando $129 per person roundtrip. Sometimes here in the Chicago area we can get better deals than that, though not by much, but I'm sure that's cheap from other locations that are further from Orlando.

I called twice today to price it, and the first time I called I got priced at $793.66 (2 adults, Pop Century 9/9 - 9/15, 4 day base pass). But when I called back to find out the cancelation policy and book it, they priced me $942.54 for the same stuff. Anyone have any explaination on why the difference?

NM I think she only priced one adult. I just priced it on disneyworld.com and it came to be $744 something.
