Free Dining Plan Question

Does it work differently than the regular dining plans? Meaning do you have less credits available to use compared to paying for the DDP or QSP?

We're not going until November 29 and there is that possibility that free dining will be offered again for this year like it was for 2011. DH thinks that the catch is that you don't get the same amount of credits compared to if you pay for it. I'm not sure.

We're not booking until next week, but if free dining is offered (with no changes in the amount of credits we get) in the next few months, than we will have our TA apply the discount to our package.

Anyone know or have done free dining before that can shed some light on this. Thanks!

I'm doing the free dining in September and it's the same plan! We get 1 TS, 1 CT, & 1 Sanck each night!

Free dining gives you the same credits. Usually quick service plan for values; Regular dining plan for moderates and deluxes. We are hoping for the same promotion.

It works exactly the same as the paid dining plans.

The "catch" with free dining is that you have to pay rack rate for the room and you have to buy park tickets with the room reservation.

The plans remain the same whether or not they are offered for free.

That's what I figured since it's with a non-discounted package. I've gone to Disney's site and priced out the package like I normally would with the DDP added. I then priced it out with just the room and tickets and no DDP added just to find out the price difference.

We're going to be booking this week and adding the DDP to our package. If FD is offered this year for our dates and it's before the 45 day mark, then we will call our agent and have them apply the discount to our package.

We're just finalizing any questions now before we book with the TA.

You've said this a couple of times in this thread. Just want to make sure you understand that your TA can only apply the discount if your resort, your room type, and your dates are available under the FD promotion. If not, you'll have to change either your dates or resort, or possibly both.

Thanks I didn't realize I had said it more than once.

Yes, we do understand about the availability. In the past CBR has been included. Now whether or not the Pirates themed room will be included in that or not is something we will have to wait and see.

Either way, I can't wait to book our package this week!
