Free Dining plan is Back

Mousesavers just listed that the free dining package is back...same travel dates avilable thru 8/20!!

Actually, the plan starts 8/21, just like the last time it was offered.

Booked POR for 8 nights in Sept for $1324 with free dining and one day ticket - have AP so no need for more!

I just called we made reservation on the 19th and paid in full. I called and asked if they could add the free dining option and the women I got had no idea what I was talking about. About 40 minutes later she worked it out that I had to cancel my current reservation and make new ones the difference was $20 more. Not too shappy for 5 days of food.

So what is to this free dining? I am thinking of booking for Sept - but I have to wait until next Thursday (payday) to make reservation. I could go for free dining - my DH didn't care for the counter food we ate last time - I might be able to make a PS.

Free dining is for Check ins late August (can't remember) through Oct 4th. You book a room and rack rate (meaning pay full price, no discount) and purchase tickets and you can get the dining plan for free.

You get one counter service meal, one table service meal and one snack per person per day. SO if you are there 7 nights you would get 7 counter service, 7 table service and 7 snacks per person.

Well I went ahead and called Disney today and made the reservation - no free dining - just couldn't pay rack rate - when I can get the FL resident/Passholder rate on the room. So we are booked at CSR for Sept 8-11 and we are definately planning on eating at Maya Grill but not sure for the rest of the meals. I couldn't beat the FL rate.

Since they're once again offering the free dining package I've changed my whole trip for the end of August. I originally booked the Swan for 3 nights with the Educators rate through Dreams Unlimited ($99/night). Then along comes this free dining offer again. I missed it the first time. Just for a lark I checked a value resort for room only/no tickets. Then I checked the free dining package with a one day ticket and lo and behold it was cheaper than the room only. It also beat the price of my stay at the Swan and comes with transportation to & from the airport, free food, and a one day park ticket. Since I'm traveling alone I cancelled my Swan reservation today and booked my free dining package at POP through Dreams Unlimited. Everything is paid for so I'm ready to go. Just have to decide where I want to eat. I only plan to do 3 days in the parks, if that many, and have leftover tickets from last summer. I know I'm giving up that heavenly bed but there was just too much to gain by switching. I'll also have incentive to make another trip to stay at the Swan. A win/win situation!
