I have seen several on here have a dining pin that hadn't been emailed to them but was in their information at WDW. Is it proper Disney etiquette to call and ask if I have any pins or is that considered too pushy? :confused3 I'm still new to this game and don't know all of the "rules". Thanks.

You sure can call. Now you might get a less-than-magical CM answer who will refuse to look it up but if that happens, say thank you, hang up and call back ;)

If you get a less than magical CM, you tell them that they are not acting very Dinsey like, and they will change their attitude. This is advice that I got from a DVC host.

I will keep that in mind. In all of my Disney dealings I have only had one CM that has been less than wonderful. I wish I had known to tell her she was not acting Disneylike. I did take the survey and let Disney know that I was not impressed.

I called yesterday..and we don't have the free dining pin right now. the person was very nice, and said just to keep checking as they are released on a random basis.

Is this true...that they are sent out randomly?

Yes it is...check email and snail mail. They come both ways.

Great info!!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I've got a random one. That would save us quite a bit!!!

What is a free Dining pin?? and how do I get on the list??

a pin is a special code for your family that gives you a discount on something at Disney (free dining, $$$ off your room, $$$ off an AP). Disney markets these and nobody but Disney has any clue how or why they choose the people that they do. Make sure Disney HAS your contact information and keep your fingers crossed :thumbsup2

So, if I've created an account online, is that what I need to do to "make sure Disney has my information"? I'm planning our first trip to Disney, but I have been using an online account to plan, research, etc. Is this the kind of "account" I need to be in the running for these wonderful, random pins? :goodvibes Would it make sense for someone like me to call...or would that only apply to people who have vacationed at Disney before?

Thanks for any insight!

If you have a Disney.com account you are good. If you order a planning video- a lot of people swear that this helps generate a PIN- it hasn't in my case but you never know. You can absolutely call and ask if you have a PIN attached to your name but it is few and far between the people who have a code under their name and didn't actually receive some communication (mail or email) that they did.
