Free Dining PIN for last Week in August

I am hearing some people say that the latest PIN code offer for Free Dining the rest of the year could possibly become public later. BUT it will not likely include the last week in August.

So, here are my questions:
1. What is the likelihood of the PIN code going public? Has it actually happened in years past?
2. Would they really drop the last week in August from the public offer? Have they done THAT in years past?

Well since no one responded to your questions, I thought I'd give it a shot.

Pins codes do not usually go public. I think Disney uses pins to try to fill rooms, without having to make a big announcement about offering rooms at a discount. In otherwords it's a secret sale. However since folks on the disboards and other boards share or brag about their "deals" its not so secret anymore. There have been pin codes that have become public deals, but again it is Disney's way of filling rooms in slow times. The discussions here on the Dis boards, indicate that there are two big conventions happening the last week in August, so it's my guess that there is not a need to discount that week.

Your second question about dropping the last week in August from the current promotion - well yes, it seems that is what has occurred. If you look at promotional patterns offered by WDW, they seem to change it up every few years. You can go to Mouse savers.com and read about the "historical" discount offers, if you really want to get into actual details.

Those of us who had counted on free dinning the last week in August had counted our chickens before they were hatched. The only thing certain is that prices seem to go up and promotional offers change from year to year. We had hoped for free dinning too, but now are having to adjust.

The best we can hope for is that week is slow to book and MAYBE WDW will add a few extra dates to the current promotion?

Thank you so, so much, Lizzie, for responding to my post. Once a couple of days had gone by and no one responded, I had forgotten all about it!

Well, I will still hold out hope that they MAY extend their current offer, but it's probably not worth holding my breath at the same time, I guess! It figures that we finally scrape up enough money to go this year and are squeezed out of the FD offer. Such is life!

We're still determined to have a great time, even if it means we are late on our mortgage payment. UGH. It's the American way, right?

Pin codes have gone public many times in the past, but not always. I am pretty sure what has been offered publicly for end of August is what will be offered. They probably only had a very small amount of inventory for that short time frame, so did not want to offer it to general public. The other dates on the most recent pin may go public, but don't think the August dates will. For one thing the next public promotion will likely not even go out until July or August.
