free dining package & upgrading tickets

We are considering doing the free dining package vs. staying in a DVC resort in September. I'm wondering if you decide to upgrade your tickets once you get there does everyone in the room have to upgrade to the same. For example if grandma is only coming for 5 days of the 10 day trip and she doesn't want the plus options.......but the rest of us do......can we upgrade ours to 10 day with park plus options while she keeps hers at a 5 day pass? Or does everyone have to change to the same kind of ticket?
