I have read that the free dining is usually only offered on a five night stay. We are planning on staying from the 17th to the 29th. If you can only get the free dining and they have it at the time we are at disney it means that we will have several reservations because for the weekend we would just have room only. Have done it in the past to get deals so it would be okay just a bit of a pain. When you get the dining plan that way would we want to start the 5 nights on the Sunday or the Monday. We don't plan on eating in Disney on the Sunday of the second week at all but will need the plan for the Fri. The plan last year was for 5 nights 6 days so we would be in Disney for the last Fri. but would we be able to use the dining for the last day? If not then we would check in the second week on the Monday and leave Sat. which we intend on doing anyway. If we can't get the free dining then I would book us into Disney on the 17th and leaving the 29th. We would then pay for the free dining with the base ticket, but you buy 10 day passes only. That is fine with us because again we don't plan on going into Disney on the Sat. or Sun. Do you get dining everyday or just for the 10 days even though we will be buying the base ticket and room for the entire time.

I dont know where you got usually 5day, its usually been 3 days.. This year, the early report from disney visa is 5day minumum, but this is the first time ever it has been that long

get the free dining for 10 days based on a 10-day resort stay, if it's offered. You don't need to get park tickets to match your length of stay, but you will need to get Disney park tickets for at least one day.

This information is based on the last two years of the free dining offer for Americans. Maybe, someone else Canadien can help a little more with info, if it's different for you.

I am from Ontario, Canada. The same rules applied for us last year as well. My Family went last year during Free dining for 10 days. You would have to buy at least a one day park pass and pay full price for your hotel room and then you would qualify for free dining. That is only if your dates are within the disney promotions. Right know rumors are showing that it wont start till Aug 26th, so if you have to stay for a minimum of 5 mights, then you would have to be there from August 26 - 30th to qualify.

Is the five night minimum stay apply to everyone or just the visa cardholders that want to book the free dining before the general public gets to?:confused3

If it is a 5 day min. stay then that would benefit us greatly. We would stay the entire time then and get the plan. That would be great. But just so I understand, the dining plan lasts for the amount of time you are at the resort and it has nothing to do with the ticket days. That is great. I thought that was what it was but wanted to make sure. We have never done the dining plan before so this is all new to me.
I found the info on the 5 day stay on another web site that had past specials, but I could have been wrong and misread the information saying that it had to be a min. of 5 days not a total of 5 days.

Last year I went for 15 days, with 2 reservations one for 10 days and one for 5 days. This year because I booked it in the UK I got one reservation for 21 days.

Hey, OP -- We just booked with the Disney Visa code today, and we booked for 9/16-9/27 and got free dining for all eleven nights. The CM told me that the maximum stay is 14 nights.

Hope that helps! :wizard:

ETA: I just realized you meant August. As of right now people are being able to book 3 nights of free dining. Each package would require at least a one day ticket.
