Free Dining Offers?

We're from the UK and have free dining this year - arriving Aug 9th.

The latest is the 2015 free ddp is released on the 21st April for uk residents along with $200 gift card at moderate and deluxe resorts. Only a few black out dates.

I'm a DVC member so I'm completely clueless about free dining. I'm helping a friend plan a trip though and have some questions. If she books a room only reservation now and then free dining is offered during her trip, can she add tickets and the free dining to it later?

She'd have to cancel/rebook as a package with a new deposit.

No. They'll need to put down a new deposit (or PIF if within 45 days) on the package and they'll get a refund of the deposit from their room only.

Not completely true, it depends on the CM you get. We did this and she was able to apply the old deposit as long as I was using the same card. She just had to check with her supervisor.
