Is this it?? The dates are so limiting. We are planning to check in on 9/24. Will we get FD for the whole trip? Also, I am unclear whether you have to purschase a photo book. Really cuts into the savings for 1 adult and 1 child. I was HOPING for a room discount.

Yes, you will get FD for your whole stay if you check in on the 24th (up to 14 days). Yes you have to buy the photo book. They add it into the price. It does cut into the savings for sure. Maybe they will put out another room discount yet, you can keep hoping........but for now I guess any discount is better than no discount.

Hi! I currently have a reservation set to start on 8/27/11 with a checkout date of 9/4/11. If I can get the FD added to my reservation, will they make me split the reservation. In other words, would I have to check in on the 27th and then check out and check back in on the 28th? Thanks!

Yes, you will have to start your package on the 28th in order to get Free Dining for your stay. You would have to do room only for the 27th and then check in/out on the 28th.

I have heard that you can pick up the tickets from your package a day early so you will be able to do that, but the dining credits won't start until the 28th.

So, do you know if that will mess anything up with the Magical Express since I will have two different reservtions? I would hate to catch the bus at the airport on the 27th and then find out that my return trip has been voided for 9/4/11!

So, as an AP holder I would have to buy the photo book (which I don't want) plus at least two day park tickets for everyone in the room? How much is the book? Wow, not much of a savings for just two people (or a solo traveler) at a moderate. I currently have the GP discount that came out several months ago for my Sept 24th-Oct 2nd trip. Think it might be a better deal. Hoping for a better AP discount though.

I'm currently paying $1107.02 for eight nights at POFQ with the GP discount and paying OOP for meals. To add free dining for two adults would be $1823.40 ($1476.00 for the room, plus two 2-day park tickets), then I'd still have to add in the price of the silly photo book. Seems like using my current GP discount and paying for meals OOP would be cheaper, even if AP discounts don't come out. It was bad enough when they started making AP holders buy two day park tickets instead of one day tickets, but now they're requiring the purchase of a photo book on top of that?

Nervermind, I just saw where the photo book is $100.00. That means that with the photo book it would cost me $1923.40 for free dining compared to my current deal of $1107.02. No thanks, I can pay for my meals OOP for the $816.00 difference. Hopefully AP discounts will come out and I'll be able to save a little more though. Am I missing anything?

aubriee, I'm with you. It's feeling like more and more of a slap in the face to AP holders with every discount and every late AP rate release. They sure aren't encouragine us to renew. I won't be renewing. I've already bought YES tickets for my August trip rather than renewing my AP (another thing that you have to buy a ticket for to participate even if you're an AP holder; I waited until our APs expired to sign my kids up for a YES class).

Hey everyone! I seem to see a bit of a pattern here. It certainly appears that Disney makes it so that the potential savings are about the same with any offer that is made. The total cost of a package with a % off room rate and the FD offer come out to pretty close to the same. I didn't have any kind of a discount before the FD offer was announced so my overall savings are looking like this:

2 Adults, 1 Child (4 years old); checking in 8/28 and checking out 9/4:

Pop Century with 8 day park hopper and DDP:

No Discount - $2,498.02

With free QSDP - $1,770.23
Upgrade to DDP - $154.00
Photopass Book - $99.95
Total - $2,024.18

We will save $473.84 on our vacation!

Woo Hoo!!!!! We were planning on going sept 24-Oct 2 so this worls out great for us. I will definitely be booking first thing on May 2.

Looks like we have the better deal already. We have one room booked with the kids stay & play & basic dining. To add "free dining" & upgrade from QS to Basic would be almost $500 more. The other room is room only with basic dining, so to switch to "free dining" & upgrade from QS to Basic would cost us $558 more. Having AP's for one pkg & getting kids tickets free on the other make it a better deal for us.

Bleah. I got the Free Dining pin that is good for dates up to 8/13 and now this which is good for dated beginning 8/28. But I need to plan my trip for 8/21-8/29. Augh! What is up that there are no discounts at all for the time that I want to be there? Is anything happening at WDW between 8/13 and 8/28?

So glad you were able to take advantage of the offer and save some cash! For us I am taking my dd on a mommy and me trip. So with 1 adult and 1 child a room discount (we stay deluxe) is much, much better especially when you have to buy a photopass book. Still dreaming of a room discount to come. I promised dd we could go for the HAlloween party, but if there is no discount may just wait until Jan. or early Feb.
