This has happened to me on many different occasions when the CM's have no idea what is going on.
Did you feel dumb? What did you do?
This has happened to me on many different occasions when the CM's have no idea what is going on.
Not that it will stop me, but I feel like when I call first thing the rumored DV morning and ask for FD, the CM's are going to think I'm nuts. It seems like most CM's aren't on the same page ever. Im supposed to tell them I heard it on Dis boards or what? Or should they know? I know Black said to me before that if they don't know I should ask for them to check. Idk, I'm just being weird I guess! :rotf2:
I hope I wrote my other post correctly, but I believe I wrote that DV holders should get it on Monday July 29 and the general public US and other countries will all get it on Thursday Aug. 1. I guess I'd better track down my other post to make sure that is what it says.
Upgrade costs are approx. $19 per night for adults and approx. $4 per night for kids 9 and under.
ETA: I think I found the post you were referring to. I said the DV holders get it first and the the general public from the US and other countries get it 3 days later. I think you may have just read it wrong.![]()
The week before Thanksgiving. Thanks for the reply. We really can't go without the free dining. We were supposed to go during the September free dining but spouse now can't get the time off for the week I first reserved and the week he can get off no ADR's are left.
Smitch is always right, just accept it an move on...
;P
Just FYI for some perspective: Every trip since 2005 has been with free dining and I always waited till it was released to book. I have always gotten my fist choice in resort and resort category; although I would always have a second choice, just in case. Would highly recommend, especially if staying at smaller resort.
Full disclosure though, this year was an exception because I knew disney was cutting back and I thought this might be the year. We were going regardless and I booked the full Monty in February. When September FD went live I knew there was only a slim chance of keeping Nemo suite and I was right; at 7:20 am booked a Lion King. So, booking now or making changes, does not improve odds for anything. : ) Good Luck Everyone!!!
Edit: Full disclosure again. Due to a huge mistake on Disney's part, they later gave me free dining with a Finding Nemo suite.

Make sure it is FREE dining. They may have added it to your package at full price. A pin is different than a public code. You never need to know a code when an offer is public. If you had a FD pin on your account, the CM would be able to see it when they brought your account up. FD pins have been going out since early May. I will check the wording on my reservation screen to see if it says free in the title. Be right back...
ETA: i just logged in to the My Disney Experience page and it lists my reservation as "MYW Pkg + Free Quick Service Dining PIN"
Since I've never had free dining, just a few (probably dumb) questions....QS meals- ANY QS meal? Or are their limitations on where etc...and well the same question for TS meals. Desert is included in the TS meals right? But no appetizer?
U got a PIN smitch??? When did that happens?!?!
(Jealous)
This.....
Full disclosure: already booked and paid for and going no matter what.....but i will take DDP for free if its offered.
CM says FD can be applied to existing ressie, BUT if your not booked, and want to increase tour chance at FD , DO NOT book yet. Wait for after the 1st so you have the whole story.
YES! It happened at the end of May. I had read that more PINs were being sent out and I thought I would just call to see if I got lucky, and I did! The kids and I took a bunch of cutout letters and placed a trail of them from the garage door (where DH comes in after work) leading up to the upstairs hallway. They spelled out "WE GOT FREE DINING". Our stairs have a 180 turn half way up, so "dining" was on the second half. The kids and I were sitting at the top of the stairs with big goofy grins on our faces. Basically looking like this----> I could see the weight lift off his shoulders when he realized what was going on. His furlough letter was due any day (he works for the federal govt), so the timing could not have been better. DH thought he would starve himself if he didn't have the dining plan, so now he gets to eat.As I suspected, though, our dates are covered by the public offer, but we got lucky with getting the PIN right before the ticket increase by just a few days.

Last year's dates weren't too different. Looks like that third set of dates is a bit longer, but you could've got all the major holidays in with varying lengths of stay. See a comparison below:
2012 Free Dining Dates
9/30 – 10/4
10/19– 11/1
11/9 – 11/15
11/23 – 11/29
12/10 – 12/20
2013 Free Dining Dates
9/29 - 10/2
10/18 - 11/2
11/11 - 11/23
12/12 - 12/22
Please help me out. I welcome your opinion, but I am not sure what you're telling me??? : )

Do you already have a reservation?
No? Then wait until the offer is out to make one.
Yes? Then call the morning the promo is released and the CM will apply it to your reservation.
If need be they will spilt the stay to start the free dining the day it can be applied if you arrive earlier.
Make sense? Its late so maybe I am babbling...
I'm having the same problem, I'm already booked for Dec 1st - 7th and already have all my ADR's and planned on using the Dining Plan, I've been pricing out the cost of the restaurants vs using the Dining Plan and it looks like it might be cheaper to just cancel the dining plan and pay OOP.
Frustrating day!![]()

Is it fairly certain that as long as your check in date is included you will be able to apply free dining to the whole stay?
