Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!!

Just had the strangest thing happen while changing rooms from the Little Mermaid to the POP. They included free dining when i told them that was why i was changing rooms!

I obviously didn't give them a pin, those won't be out until August 1st right?

Disney hasn't even confirmed free dining for October yet right?

Does stuff like this ever happen?

After seeing this post last night and crying til falling asleep, then tossing, turning, and waking up constantly with my brain going crazy with "What are we going to do!!" I called Disney this morning.

We are scheduled for the 1st week of Dec. Arriving Nov 30th and leaving on Dec 7. (This is my 32nd b-day, my hubs 34th bday, and our 14th anniversary. Yeah, we have a week of craziness every year.)

Upon booking the cm said she had worked with Disney for over 30 yrs, etc etc and to be sure to check back for free dining dates since it consistently is offered that week.

The CM this morning said that no dates have been released and not to worry???

I'm so confused.

I know that I cannot pay $4420 plus MVMCP tickets for this vacation. (Not including airfare.) I was expecting $2,777 and for that we have been putting $67 a week into a "Disney" envelope since January. When you see the money going towards it each week and you realize how hard you are working and then the countless hours spent on trip planning and then it can all be swept away...serious depression here. Vacation is supposed to be fun and exciting. Now I face the possibility of having to cancel our trip and OMG what about the plane tickets we've already bought? While everyone was at the beach this summer and going to different places we have been home, squirreling away every dollar and it's not going to be enough after all.

Please tell me this is a bad dream.

We're in the same boat. We were really hoping for free dining that first week as well and we already have our plane tickets too. To help with the finances we are planning on opening the Disney Visa so we have six months of free financing. We will then use our tax rebate & commission checks from work to help the cost of our trip. Not the best plan, but it will work for us. Maybe you can consider the same. And I'm still hoping for free dining that week. I'm not giving up until its all officially announced.

It is possible that the pin was showing on your account. I never received my pin via mail or email. I just called a few weeks ago and had it. Check your confirmation email closely to make sure it is for real.

It is possible that the pin was showing on your account. I never received my pin via mail or email. I just called a few weeks ago and had it. Check your confirmation email closely to make sure it is for real.

Make sure it is FREE dining. They may have added it to your package at full price. A pin is different than a public code. You never need to know a code when an offer is public. If you had a FD pin on your account, the CM would be able to see it when they brought your account up. FD pins have been going out since early May. I will check the wording on my reservation screen to see if it says free in the title. Be right back...

I ran your dates of Nov 30th - Dec 7th with the 6 day base tickets, POFQ garden view plus dining and only came up with $2959.36 for the two of you. Are other people travelling with you to add the extra $1200?

Thanks for all of the support. It's really warming my heart. I know that most people reading the disboards forums have a common bond, and that is the love for Disney and the magic you feel when you're there. We want everyone else to feel that too, and we pull for our fellow mouse when they fall. Thanks for trying to help me back up.

I will keep positive thoughts. No matter where I end up, I know it will be where I was supposed to be. I am happy for all who were able to make their trip more special due to the free dining promo that Disney doesn't have to offer, but does. I must remember that I'm not entitled to eat free while there, but that it's a gift. A gift I have been blessed to have received on two prior trips, which meant we could go. If my dates are magically opened up and I can go, I will understand the hard work it takes to get there, and if I cannot, then I will learn that sometimes life hurts...but I can always save up and hope for next time. We make the best of what we are given day to day, and I think that counts for something.

My balance remaining is $20 cheaper lol. So it's not like they charged me or my balance has gone up. My stay is from Oct. 25th- the 29th btw. It says nothing about free dining anywhere on my reservations though. But it quick service dining has been applied and my remaining balance isn't any higher.

As long as your balance didn't go up, you should be good. Congrats!

I would check you're price break down. Cuz mine says this:
PACKAGE(S): CARIBBEAN BEACH- IAC / MAGIC YOUR WAY FREE DINE

By changing locations, you might have lowered the price and then when QS was added it didn't change the finally dollar. But then again, you could have been dusted. Congratulations

Keep postive thoughts, don't make any changes till you have to and call lots to see if you qualify for a FD plan. You just never know when you qualify or when a CM sprinkles you. It happeded to me. I called number number of times checking for Pin, discount code, anything and finally a CM gave me FP. After she verified I didn't have a PIN.

Don't give up hope! And there's always ways to make it work. May not what you originally thought, but than again, it may be better.

Public offers are not the same as pins. Pins are household specific 15 digit codes that only you can use. Congratulations!

I'm trying to figure out which is cheaper to: A-stay at ASM and upgrade to reg or B - stay at POR and keep regular dining for 2 adults, 2 children (12 and 6). ???

Ahhh similar dilemma!! I can't get to the Disney site at work to get official pricing but I've figured that it's about 19/adult to upgrade to "plus" dining if you are staying at a Value (I'm at ASM). And the Mods are almost 100 more per night but then dining would be free. So I think the better way to go is value but it's just my brain is tired I can't calculate the better deal. I just want to be prepared if(WHEN) the deal is released to the public in a few weeks so I can get my dialing fingers ready.
