Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!!

Firstly WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Soo excited about FD! :cool1:

Secondly, Please I have a question. I have to have 3 nights Nov 1st ( I can't make any other dates as I am flying over from England) so I am allowed the FD as long as I book 3 nights and 2 days tickets as my start date is within their dates. But I HAVE to have those dates. So am I better to book those 3 nights now and then ring to add the free dining to it? Or am I better to wait until 7am eastern time on August 1st as I don't have the Disney Visa and hope there is somewhere left to book? Which is the best way to do this and also please what is the phone number (non 800 number please) for me to ring to book?

Thank you for the help! :rotfl::rotfl: Can not believe my luck! :worship:

If you need the dates regardless of the deal, go ahead and book. Booking now doesn't guarantee you FD, but it will guarantee you a place to stay. Just call 1(407)W-DISNEY.

Thanks for the phone number. I have a week already booked and paid at GF the previous week it is just the last 3 days of the trip I need to book. I just wondered if I do go ahead and book my 3 days will there be a fee involved in changing it to get the FD? Or will they even let me do this?

Is there a reason you do not want one single reservation with FD? What is your check in date at GF?

Yes I won a trip for a week so I wont have to pay anything towards it. I only have to pay 3 nights :) We arrive Oct 25th until Nov 1st and then our flights don't leave for 3 more days. I really want to stay onsite but as we don't have long to come up with spends and food for a 10 day trip we are trying to get fd for those 3 days. I already have an 8 day park hopper for the first week as well. So would be brill if I can just do the minimum 3 nights 2 day park pass

Do you have a dining plan on the trip you won? You might want to see if they can just extend your original trip and let you pay the additional costs for the extra nights. If not, just make a new package reservation for those days now, and when the offer goes public, just call Disney and have them apply the FD discount. If you prefer to only make one phone call, you can just wait until the offer is released and do it all then.

So they won't bill me to just add fd to a 3 day booking? If I can just change the booking I am likely better off to book the room only now and add park tickets and fd if it is available. I don't mind where we stay as long as it is onsite.

I can't alter anything with the booking the first week and they wont let me have the free dining or even pay for it I have already asked. So we will eat out of pocket which is going to get pricey. We were really wanting the ddp so we were going to rent dvc to be able to buy it but this is a far better deal to get FD than it is to rent points and pay for it.

THank you so much for your advice! Much appreciated!!

Our dates are a little off, we check in on Oct. 16, so how will that work? I think I read somewhere that we will have to make 2 reservations, or check out and check back in? Staying at the Beach Club if anyone has answers...

Congrats on the big prize! If you are going to book now, do room and tickets; then you can just call and have free dining added. A RO will have to be canceled and rebooked as a MYW package. Good luck and have fun!!!

If you want to book prior to the deal coming out, go ahead an book it as a package with the tickets so that FD can be applied when you call back. If you book a room only now, you will have to cancel the room only and book a package to get the FD. Room onlys and packages are two separate reservation systems, so booking a room only won't do you any good. You might be better of just getting a room discount for those extra nights and upgrading your previous tickets to the 10 day when you get to the park. It would be much cheaper than buying a second set of tickets, especially if you are stay at the GF. You may want to wait until the deal goes live to see what the best option would be. FD doesn't sell out that fast. You will have some time to run the numbers before needing to book.

Yep, you could do a split stay. Room only for two nights and then book a MYW package with free dining. Have the reservations linked to increase the possibility of keeping the same room, although Disney does not guarantee this. : )

Hello everyone, see everybody is still just as nervous as ever. So today I went over with my mother what to say when she makes that call on 7/29. At 69 years old she tends to forget things so I wrote down everything she needs to say and ask for. After it was all done she asked how long she might be on hold. I said it could be ten minutes or in some cases one hour. She said ONE HOUR, what if I have to go to the bathroom? I said bring the phone and visa with you. That doesn't sound too crazy does it?:rotfl2: I wish I could be the one to make the call but I have to work.

And the notes! The phone, the Visa AND the notes! :lmao:

Hi! Just wondering if anyone knows if the FD for general public comes out online on Aug. 1 as well? This way, people would not need to wait for hours on the phone. Thanks! :)

Yes, it will be online sometime on the release date (not the Visa offer date--you must call for Visa offers). It may or may not be up first thing in the morning. If you have not booked, you can do everything online as soon as it is up on the special offers page, but if you have a reservation booked already, you have to call to modify it.

Works for me - I like it. Definitely better than "Joe's Black Magic Travel"! :rotfl2:
Although, that could be good for a special travel itinerary for a Disney Villains tour kind of thing.

That's awesome lol!! That could be for the times Disney does Halloween haha. I wish Disney would do a villains tour. I know they come out during Halloween but it's not enough lol

Free dining will be extended beyond September.

Bookings for these dates will begin August 1.

As usual, Disney Visa holders should have a few days notice to book early, likely on July 29. The dates are below:

September 29 - October 2
October 18 - November 2
November 11 - 23
December 12 - 22

Does anyone know if your stay has to be completely in these dates of just the start of your stay? For example, Our dates are 9/28-10/4. I'm assuming that I would need to back up the start to 9/29. Could I then do 9/29-10/5? I know there are some real experts out there on this stuff so any ufo would be appreciated. Thanks!

The split stay frightens me....

2 days , then 6 days........

When do I check out and check back in?

I have quite a few rewards dollars on my account , so NOW I am debating just doing a R/O for the entire stay and use my mega rewards for food and gifts......

Any ideas if the R/O will be the same dates as FD? Or is it all up in the air on that?

Too much thinking.....

You checkout the same day you check into the package. If your package starts on 11/2 you would checkout of your room only on 11/2. I try to work backwards when thinking about it.
