Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!!

I'm pretty sure both count. I just got mine in the mail last week! :) takes about a week to get it. Only thing I don't like about the debit card is you have to keep $1500 in it in order to not get the $12 fee!!!

We have both the debit and the Visa. I have never paid a fee for the debit card and we keep no where near that amount in the account. We have a direct deposit into the account so that may be why. I do however pay the $49 a year fee for the Visa so I can get the 2% on gas and Groceries. I use this exclusively for those items and Disney related items then pay it off each pay check. The rewards are loaded on the card for my DD to spend at Disney.

Hmmm- when I called they didn't mention a fee at all! He just kept trying to get me to shut down my regular chase debit and only have the Disney one- "because it's FREE!"
Now that I think of it though, I remember reading on here one time you have to either have a certain amount in there, or have direct deposit? Not sure, ill try to look it up. Hopefully the 1500 thing is wrong because I don't keep that much in there! But I do have direct deposit from my paychecks.

I have direct deposit now that I think of it I do remember them saying there is no fee as long as you have direct deposit

Thanks!! We are already booked actually, through a TA... But I've been buying the Disney gift cards at target and paying with those. Wonder how that'll work? Maybe we can just make a small payment with the debit card on FD day?

Yeah, I'm not sure how that would work with a TA. Your TA may be able to work around it. I've only booked the visa offers with Disney directly. Maybe someone else can chime in with their experience.

If you booked with a TA, they will have to call and get FD for you. You will need to give the TA your Disney debit card number and they will likely require you to make a $200 payment towards your balance with that debit card.

You have to have a direct deposit of $500 or more a month for no fee.

Or have an existing savings account with a certain amount in it.

Or keep a $1500 DAILY amount in the debit/checkin account

Fee is $12 if these terms are not met.

Thanks!! I couldn't find where I had read that!

My original reservation was for 3 adults, room only, POFQ, for Sept 29-Oct 3. My son and I discovered we could fly down earlier, on Sept 25. I tried for FD, since our new arrival date fell in the FD dates, but there were no openings there, and there was no other resort that we wanted. So, I kept the RO, but got the room only discount for the 2 of us, and when hubby arrives, we'll be adding him to the room for the last 4 nights.
If free dining opens as hoped, I will be calling to see if any additional FD packages open at FQ, for our dates. If they do, will I be able to make the entire 8n package for 3 of us? If not, can I do it for just the 2 of us, then when he arrives on Sept 29, can he be added with FD to the ressie? Or will I have to book RO for the first 4 nights, then start the FD package for the 3 of us effective the date hubby arrives, Sept 29?

UPDATE- I decided to call tonight to see if, by any chance, a FD room had opened up at POFQ, or if not, was going to see if a PIN had showed up for me. To my surprise, the CM said there was a Garden View room available for FD with my dates ( I had been booked RO in a standard room)!:cool1: I then asked how we work it with my husband coming in 4 days later than my son and me, do we add him on when he arrives? He left to talk to someone else, and came back to say that he needs to be on the reservation for the start date, so we will just have some extra credits to use up, or double up and use them for signature restaurants. I am so excited- now I can stop figuring and refiguring what I might need to ask for, come July 29! So, keep checking, people! It might happen for you too!

Fantastic! Did the CM advise you to get the least amount of ticket days that your whole group needs with your package? You and your son can upgrade in the park if you need more days than DH. Even though you need him on the reservation to get the credits, he doesn't need tickets days that will be wasted. :goodvibes

Can anyone help me with this question...if a trip is already booked, Does disney refund the $ that's paid towards a trip or do they just reapply it to the new reservation?

Are you booked with a package? As long as you are, you can just modify the existing package to get FD and the money stays where it is. If you are booked with a room only, but want FD, they will refund you all of your money paid and you will need to cancel the room only and book a package with a new deposit.

Hi there! They will reapply it toward your new reservation.:)

Wow! I went camping for a few days with my family and big things are happening! I haven't had time to read through this entire thread, but I think I've got the gist of things. We're already booked for our anniversary trip, checking in on Nov. 23 for 4 nights at POR with a royal room, dining plan, and tickets, which should qualify us for FD for our stay. If I understand correctly, I need to be on the phone at 7 am sharp on August 1st, and if there's availability I could possibly keep this room. If not, I need to be ready to consider other room options. Is this it in a nutshell?
